Nah, you don't understand how some ECU folk think... clearly they want to fire a 2nd year coach after 4 (edit 3 games) games in before conference play. That way we can convince someone "better" that it's a great job and you'll have plenty of time to implement a winning system.

"Hey up and coming coach, come coach for us after we unceremoniously fired a Pirate lifer and decent coach, then fired another coach and good recruiter after 15 games"

I'm not saying they'd fire him after the 0-3 start, I'm saying that if we aren't good enough to beat JMU then quite honestly we are going to have the same or worse record overall as last year. If that happens he's getting canned. That's John Thompson type stuff and it won't be tolerated. JMU is a good team that won't be a pushover, but at the same time the only team on our schedule I might favor them to beat is Tulane and I stress might on that. If they are too much of a challenge try finding 4 wins on the rest of the schedule.

But to your point, the team we fielded last season is no where close to the dumpster fire that was the JT era... it's not even close. I saw that **** up close and personal, sir. SoMiss and State both put up 50+ on us. His teams weren't even competitive against MUCH weaker competition. Mo won as many games in one season as JT did in 2 (Army twice and Tulane...). A fumble here, interception there, concussion here and targeting call there and maybe we escape with 2 more wins last season. So please spare me the JT redux narrative.

My point is ECU folks are already wanting to warm up Mo's seat and that's nuts, EVEN if we start 0-3. In Ruff's last year he won 3 conference games. Mo won 1. Forgive me for not wanting to throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet. Sorry for wanting to see him actually build something legitimate in 3 or 4 years. If you fire a guy after 2 years, especially after the way Ruff was let go you're gonna have a very difficult time finding legit coaching talent to invest in Greenville. It sends the sign that we don't invest in coaches.

And neither of those is the situation I am talking about. Both of those 1 point safeties were awarded to the team attempting the extra point. I'm talking about the defending team blocking an extra point try, picking it up, running it 100 yards the other way, and getting the ball knocked out of their hands short of the goal line, then one of the guys from the original extra point kicking team picks it up in the endzone and tries to run it out, but gets tackled for a one point safety.

And another thing. If that safety was awarded to Texas, why was A&M not kicking off to them on the next play? It is the rule if you give up a safety, you kick to the other team.
