Huff has a career 7 ypc average(200att/1400yds) He's the best pure runner in the MAC. But he's also an incomplete player who makes mental mistakes which is why he is not the best overall running back. Also, our coach is a little dense if you haven't noticed and he holds him back out of stubbornness. With coaches pet Bouagnon gone, Huff should get close to 15-20 carries/game.

Huff is going to have a lot on his plate, as NIU graduates a lot of key pieces on offense.

But it doesn't hurt that he had superior athletes to work with. You can't teach speed. Davis, Phillips, Franklin, Bogan, Bellamy, Eskridge...that kind of athleticism gives any coach a huge advantage.

That superior talent has a composite recruit ranking of 2.5 stars. That's not to say they're not talented. Just that theyre only average MAC recruits(except Bellamy). For example; 2 star rival's RB Jordan Huff will lead the MAC in rushing in 2017. It just shows that winning the recruiting war can be misleading. Especially at the skill position. It seems more important/accurate on both O and D lines. That's where WMU has an edge and reason for optimism in 2017.

I said "superior athletes".

Davis, Phillips, Bellamy and Eskridge were and are some of the fastest guys in the MAC.

My response wasn't to judge their athletic ability, but to just note their recruit rating. It shows that flecks success wasn't solely because of his Really high recruits/classes which gets most of the credit for his success. WMU isn't really good because of high 3 star recruits. They're good because good players are coached really well. And most of them are 2 star kids.

You never know with Huff. Probably not the guy to build your offense around. But the Graham experiment is over. If Maddie is back you'll see the 2013 style offense with less QB runs and more RB runs. If Huff gets his act together, he will have a great season. That ypc doesn't lie. lynch was 6.6 and I think the best WMU back is around 5.9. He's a take it to the house back.anyway, Not here to hijack your thread talking about Huff. Enjoy signing day all and best of luck next season. It should be exciting in the West.
