HIRE ZACH TERRELL!!!
Pay the man!

Level-headed. Players trust him. Can keep the RTB stuff. Actual-good-guy.

Zeiglers can probably pay him more than he would make as a 7th-rounder.

RE: HIRE ZACH TERRELL!!!
Seriously? A 21-year old with NO coaching experience to take over a Mid-Major Football program coming off a conference championship and NY6 bowl appearance?

Your man crush on Bronco QBs severely clouding your judgment.

True. I think the team would really rally around him though.

Crazy thought - maybe Terrell doesn't want to go into coaching?

He wants to be a leader and loves football. Definitely #2 on my list.

Tim Hiller has more coaching experience than Terrell. Not GOOD experience, but experience.

RE: HIRE ZACH TERRELL!!!
Zach Terrell would be a good hire as the QB coach. However, PJ may be thinking the same thing.

It's crazy that Zach might go undrafted.

He is a PROVEN leader, decision-maker...QUARTERBACK!

Hire/draft the man!!

I'm with Hiller on this. Honestly, he would be great QB coach. I suspect though Zach will do well wherever he goes. he is a smart, conscientious, hard working and personable guy.

Not bad!! Now he'll have been a teammate of both Flacco brothers.

Could land a job there. Probably practice squad.

RE: HIRE ZACH TERRELL!!!
Congrats ZT! Heck, even on the practice squad he will make around $250K a year...which isn't bad and baring any injuries to starting QBs, which seem to happen like crazy in the NFL, he may have a chance to move up!

Congrats to all drafted and signed broncos! Well deserved gentlemen!

RE: HIRE ZACH TERRELL!!!
I hope he makes practice squad. Some on the facebook WMU Football site are saying he could be the "next Dak", which is ridiculous. I love ZT, but he doesn't have the size or strength to start in the NFL. A lot of great college QB's don't get a shot in the NFL. Glad he can LEARN from a great organization in Baltimore, because I think he will make a good coach someday.

Yeah, like Tebow! 03-wink

Yeah, that's obviously a stretch of course... ZT's only 1 inch shorter, and, when still young, you can put on a little more beef too. Hopefully he has a shot to prove himself in the practice squad arena and do well.

RE: HIRE ZACH TERRELL!!!
This is what I think might be ZT's best strength (beyond just being smart and having an overall good understanding of the game), and why I think he has a chance to play in the NFL: he has tremendous courage to stay in the pocket and deliver an accurate pass at the very last second. He did this many times when the pocket was getting incredibly small, and hit receivers on the money.

I hear a lot of this TV-expert-speak about size and arm strength, and I know there is some relevance and validity to those being important features of an NFL QB, but we have seen great NFL QB's who lacked the physical characteristics typically associated with an NFL QB, and others who had those characteristics in spades, yet were terrible in the NFL. Moreover, its not like ZT is 5'8". He is 6'2", with enough athleticism and instincts (the trait which generally distinguishes the great QB's from the rest) to know when to run, throw the ball away, take a chance on a more risky pass, tuck it in and take the sack. His arm strength is probably the biggest concern, but my understanding was that he dispelled some of that criticism at his pro-day.

Regardless, my bet is that he has a shot to stick around. That is step one. Then after that, getting lucky with the opportunity to get into a few games where folks are watching him with inquisitive and critical eyes (step two). Obviously, he then needs to perform well. Luck is helpful here too, as pass plays need to be called, and his teammates need to do things like block and catch passes. The grace of God, and just good fortune, is the difference most of the time for guys who aren't high draft picks to make it in the NFL and stick around. You need to be talented enough, work hard and stay prepared, then get the opportunity at the right time.
