But, as Tubby said after the win (about all of 'em), need to learn to rebound the ball. He's athletic. No reason he can't get some boards.

If he's 6-8 so is Markel lol

He looks like he is the same height as KJ...

Regardless of what the listed height is of Markel (listed 6'5"), KJ, and Jimario (both listed at 6'8"), Markel is physically a couple inches shorter than KJ and Jimario. Using a flexing metric for listing a player's height as to whether they are measured in shoes vs barefoot is less significant than combining the height, reach, and vertical leap. Prime example was Keith Lee listed at 6'10". Could not jump high, but had a reach about the same as a player who was 7'1" to 7'2".
Jimario has a longer reach than KJ even though they are both listed at 6'8". Now go and factor in vertical leap (eg. DL Stephens) and you then have a more complete picture of a player's ability, and Markel makes up for a 2 or 3 inch difference as a stronger leaper. IMHO

Jimario is definitely taller than Markel. Jimario is just so skinny - he is a smaller appearance.

RE: Rivers
Rivers demonstratively went after rebounds today and was rewarded with 8 rebs.
Would've been 9 but he fell and travelled, does that count?
Anyhow, you could see he was going up with both hands.

There were a couple of possessions when Tulane shot where all 5 Tigers collapsed into the lane. It was such an unusual sight that I forgot what it used to look like...
I may go back and grab a screenshot from the replay....?

We have been leaking out for the break early at times....Seems they have changed that somewhat

But I agree Rivers did a good job today.

I've met markel, he's a solid 6'4 and I agree Jimario and KJ are the same height. KJ has been listed from 6'6 to 6'7, appears to be a couple of inches taller than markel, I'd say both kj and rivers are around 6/6 ish.

That said they both are plenty tall to play their positions, and I'd much rather have skill than height.

There used to be an axiom that college players shrank 2' when the went to the combines, it seems true...

Wish he was stronger physically, but guess there is nothing they can do about that now, that will be an offseason issue.

Skinny guys are always gonna be skinny guys for the most part

There's skinny and there's skinny. All our guys need to eat some steaks and hit the weights.

RE: Rivers
He was working hard most of the game today. I shot a random video of KJ shooting right in front of me, to have my own "film session" on him, and see Rivers working hard to box out against a much larger USF player. He's just so out-sized playing 4/5.

RE: Rivers
Really good game today. Made some plays when we needed them. Could have helped himself with more FT conversions.
