He was up and walking around during USF game.

Not sure if he's still in the boot or not.

Would guess by mid-February at the absolute latest.

He is in a walking boot. Progressing ahead of schedule. They are going to be overly cautious due to past injuries. The staff fully expects Chad to get another year of eligibility, which is not at all based on this years developments.

I hope they're right. If Dedric declares, we're going to be back to square one in the middle. He will be tough to replace, but a player with Chad's size and skill set would take some of the sting out of it. Not much, but some.

I noticed that too. It was hard to tell, just catching glimpses of him on tv, but he didn't seem to be walking in any pain, no limp, etc. Hope that's a good sign of his recovery!

Would be nice to have him back by Feb. 12th - big stretch of games for the Tigers.

Be nice to have him get some run before the AAC tournament.

That stretch of games is nice and fun, but pretty much only matters for AAC tourney seeding.

This team is relegated to what a handful will be relegated come late February/early March - win the conference tournament if you wanna dance.

I disagree to an extent - I think there's a path. Win the right games (don't lose the wrong games), lose the right games. Throw in a surprise win...

It's not impossible to look up and us be a bubble team. Probably a long shot. Probably need to upset SMU or Cicny. Probably need to advance/win the AAC...but not impossible to make a strong case in the regular season if everything breaks the right way.

Yep

IMO, if Tubby can flirt with the bubble and secure a couple home games in the NIT - that's a successful Year 1.

Would love nothing more for him and the guys to find a way in though ... the program needs it. The city would recognize it.

I wonder what 23-8 with a win over Cincy or smu would put us in the rpi. That seems like reasonable best case scenario.

I get that. I'm just wondering how much our rip improves if we win two more games and one of the two is uc or smu. I'm not an rpi expert, but my guess is that would put us around 50 going into AAC tourney.

Don't think it matters who we beat the RPI would be the same only variable would be where you won and where you lost. So beating Cinci on the road and losing to UConn on the road would give us the Same RPI as beating UConn on the road and losing to Cinci on the road.

That site predicts 53.5 if we finish 23-8

Positive...You can swap any games as long as they are both home or both away and it will not change your RPI.

Top 25 wins doesn't change your RPI just gives the committee talking points.

25% your record 50% your opponents records and 25% your opponents opponents records with weighting for home and road games.

Walking cast is off. Watched him for a bit today. Still a bit gimpy. Maybe middle of Feb he can give some minutes. Don't think he will be good for major minutes rest of this season.

I just hope nothing happens to Dedric. Or Rivers. Or KJ. Or Martin. Or Markel. Minutes are piling up for all of them.
