RE: Grayson Allen back on the court tonight
Bench time for first offense. One game suspension possibly for second offense - especially if they are as close together as these were. By the third offense you might expect multiple games. OTOH, I don't know the kids like Coach K does; in modesty we should all admit we don't know all of the facts.

RE: Grayson Allen back on the court tonight
Should have been 3-5 games. All the other stuff means nothing. What makes the point to him is that he doesn't get to do what he loves to do. One game doesn't get that point across. He will do it again because he does it out of frustration. He isn't thinking about the act, he is acting out. He has a problem with impulse control.

If he trips again, he pretty much has to get a multi-game suspension.

Neither will 3-5 games. If he has a problem with impulse control, then 3-5 games, or any number of games, isn't likely to change that. I said after his meltdown that he may need professional help, and if so, that should be a condition for his return to the team. And no professional help is going to see meaningful results in such a short amount of time as a college basketball season.
Apparently, Coach K doesn't believe he needs that kind of help. And he is in a better position to assess that than any of us are. Let's hope he is right.

I think that if he played for a team outside of Tobacco Road that the ACC would have already acted.

Coach K has a vested interest, he has a difficult time being objective. Allen can modify his behavior when the consequences are severe enough. I've observed many students with impulse control issues modify behavior but only when consequences are extremely meaningful, and they were 5 or so years younger/ less mature.

You nailed it.
You mean outside of Durham or CH. State and WF don't enjoy the same luxury.

State may not but Wake certainly does.

I'm thinking his antics cost him a shot at being a lottery pick, maybe even a first rounder.

No, injuries cost him that. Allen was playing with several injuries through almost the entire season.

I was hoping that we were done with the sideshow.
