WKU and the final AP Top 25
WKU finished the season 11-3 with losses to Alabama (38-10), Vanderbilt (31-30 OT), and LaTech (55-52) with a conference championship and bowl win. Do they end up in the final AP Top 25, and if so, where?

The following AP Top 20-25 teams all LOST during bowl season:
#24 Nebraska (vs Tennessee)
#23 Temple (vs Wake Forest)
#22 Pittsburgh (vs Northwestern)
#21 Iowa (vs #20 Florida)

The following teams were receiving top 25 votes and LOST their bowl game:
Houston (vs SDSU)
Boise St (vs Baylor)
Washington St (vs Minnesota)
Texas A&M (vs Kansas St)
Navy (vs LaTech)

These teams were receiving top 25 votes and WON their bowl game:
Utah (vs Indiana)
Air Force (vs South Alabama)
Tennessee (vs #24 Nebraska)
SDSU (vs Houston)
WKU (vs Memphis)
Miami (vs #14 West Virginia)
Georgia Tech (vs Kentucky)
Kansas St (vs Texas A&M)
#25 USF (vs South Carolina)

RE: WKU and the final AP Top 25
They end up with votes. They are in (prior to the MAC going 0-6 in Bowl Games) the lowest ranked FBS conference with three losses; albeit relatively respectable losses.

There isn't room for a 3 loss C-USA team to be ranked outside of simply receiving votes.

Would have love to see Kentucky western play those teams. I'm betting that would be a butt kicking in any of them.

Troy lasted 1 week at #25 (before getting blown out by Ark State) the first Sunbelt EVER to be ranked.

Probably right outside the Top 25 with close to 90 votes.

Miami, Tenn, SDSU and Utah will probably be ranked

Boise State was over-rated. Baylor B-slapped them in their bowl game.

End of year ranking, for me, only means something if you've been ranked all year! 07-coffee3

I suppose beating two 9 win teams and a 10 win team doesn't account for much....unless your in the C-USA.

Louisiana Tech beat a reeling Navy team playing their 3rd team QB.

Overall, the Sun Belt was better than C-USA this season. Outside of La Tech and WKU, the conference didn't have much to hang their hat on.

Air Force finished the season hot at 10-3 and play in the second best G5 conference (maybe best after bowl season). SDSU has been media darlings all along and Utah plays in the Pac 12.

You obviously dont know anything about Navy because they are a option run offense and it is a next man up QB system. 2nd stringer Worth didnt even start this year.

App has pulled out two close win against weak MAC teams in bowls and Tech dominated your undefeated Champ and beat a ranked #25 Navy team in front 40k+ fans. Dont be jealous.

I watched the Miami game in Boone and Miami beat App worse than Alabama beat WKU. App doesnt belong anywhere close to the top 25 much less receive any votes.

Sunbelt teams dont match up well against teams with athletic QBs and receivers (WKU, Tech and Miami). Tech broke the NO bowl record last year against the undefeated Sunbelt Champ with 700 yards of offense.

I tend to agree. The bottom 20-25 will be replaced by the P5 schools that weren't previously ranked and won their bowl game.

I think WKU deserves to be ranked, but I don't think you will crack the Top 25. I think you will be receiving votes.

If you do crack the Top 25 it is because of name recognition from being good over the last few years.
