Divisions?
I thought I read somewhere that with the addition of CCU the Sun Belt was going to go to Divisions in basketball, baseball, and the Olympic sports?

What's the deal with that?

RE: Divisions?
They haven't announced anything official for football divisions in 2018 yet, but common sense should prevail here.

Divisions is not certain for every sport. My understanding is that as of right now Basketball will not use divisions. Baseball is using divisions, as is Volleyball.

With every basketball team now making the tourney an awkward unbalanced schedule is not of as much concern

Correct. Different story in Volleyball and Baseball where not every team makes the tournament. That and the fact you don't see divisions much in basketball nation wide is part of the reason why we're not using them.

The question is when will Blake Anderson's ineptitude in the out of conference games begin to translate to conference games; or, when will his aptitude in conference translate out of conference. One has to wonder if the house of cards built on JuCo's will result in a let down of a season eventually. As of right now, Arkansas State win's with talent in conference and loses with coaching out of conference.

Either way, Louisiana will never finish better than 8-4 with leaves you room for at least one loss as long as it doesn't come to them.

Seriously? You DO realize Louisiana has finished 9-4 twice in the last four years, right?

Split Idaho & NMSU into the two divisions for next year and have a championship game in football. Why wait? More football=more fun.

I'm sure he does since he was just talking about regular season.

Seriously. Geographically it fits but right now those divisions are a little lopsided. We could have to beat GaSo, Troy and stAte (twice) just to win the conference. Louisiana and South Alabama need to pick it up to balance things out. Not sure what happened to Texas State and ULM. I expect Georgia State and Coastal to be pretty competitive most years.

They did, but each time came with an 8-4 regular season record and a bowl win.

Hudspeth has never won more than 8 regular season games with the Cajuns, and recently it's been more like 5 to 6 regular season wins. We've lost to the Cajuns Three times over the last 6 years, but finished above them in the standings 5 times in that same 6 years, and tied once.

The ineptitude you speak of is actually a constant. It's just easier in conference....bottom line. Anderson does some things well and has issues with others. The issues are pretty much the same in and out of conference.

This. Why not have divisions and a CCG in the year that we actually have 12 members?
