Wouldn't matter if he wasn't looking for a job he wasn't turning Oregon down. Now if he took the Purdue job then you could certainly say "he was just looking to leave for anything" but he took a worst case scenario top 20 job in the country and you could argue maybe top 10 job.
I think you're over-valuing the Oregon job. It's a good job, but I can't rationalize the idea that it's a top 10 job. They have some great facilities, but that's all I can point to.
This is why

I don't get it. Because they had a one-time donation for facilities that made it #1 in revenue one year? Last year they were 21st with $105 million.
It's not a one time donation....it just isnt an every year donation. They make more money than every school in their conference over the course of a decade.....and Willie Taggert is getting a boat load of it for himself.
can Phil Knight afford to move their Campus to California?
bc it doesn't matter how rich they are, it's still a location issue as it pertains to their Football Program. Simple Geography and why even when they were the sexiest Program and in the Top 10 they still couldn't put together Top 10 recruiting classes.
Florida State is poor in comparison and no one questions that its a way better job than Oregon for Football
