The Belt still has one bowl left, that garbage internet bowl. South Alabama (6-6) plays Air force (9-3). Air Force should win it, then C-USA just needs to pull a split in our last two bowls. I think we can do that. I think we will have a higher bowl winning percentage then the other G5s.

Other than Hawaii, what bowl game is left?

Heart of Dallas

Why is this at 11 AM on a Tuesday? That's a horrible slot.
I'll be watching, though.

Because ESPN owns the bowl and the game doesn't feature a couple of P5 programs.

In fact, today was the first day a P5 has played in a bowl game this season. The HOD is supposed to have a P5 team in it, but the Big10 outperformed the other power conferences and placed more teams in the top bowls, leaving them unable to fill their HOD slot. The HOD has had an 11am kickoff for as long as I know, though it had been played on Jan 1st. The other games slatted for tomorrow feature at least one P5 team. Tuesday is okay considering so many people are still on Christmas vacation. There should be a big crowd for the game tomorrow. Glad you will be watching.

Because North Texas has 300,000 alums in the Dallas/Fort Worth region, and Army is a service academy. Go look at my Breaking News thread and look at the interactive ticket site. Or you can just watch it on ESPN at 11am central and judge for yourself.

At last year's Armed Forces Bowl, Cal was playing and outside of their band, that side of the stadium was pretty empty. Tech filled our side far better than Cal did (eat it, Dykes).

I guess fans don't travel for 6-6 P5 teams.

I knew the MAC was over-rated, and I said so back during the football season. And yet, all the G5 "buzz" this past season (Access/Cotton Bowl talk, etc...) was mostly about the MAC schools. This is exactly the trap the P5's were hoping for.

Glad App State went FBS, they seem to be adjusting better than their rivals in Statesboro.

Why do you say that?

I'm telling you dude, it's better than it sounds.

Hah...I meant the "Glad App State went FBS, they seem to be adjusting better than their rivals in Statesboro.".

Our meltdown this year is the same kind of issues you get in any coaching situation when an AD let's a coach hire OCs that try to keep with traditions that they really know nothing about (aka taking air raid coaches and portraying them as option coaches and then playing dumb all season long as people sharpen their pitchforks). He's reversed track and hired an entirely new offensive staff this off season, so we should be back to at least 7 wins next season.

If you ask any App or GS fan that's been around this network for more than a few years, I'm one of App/GS, biggest detractors. All I ever did was suggest neither would be the next Boise, that the annual double digit wins would be coming to an end, that either would be lucky to be better than Troy was over their first ten years in FBS.

With respect to Southern's great 2014 season, App is trending in the right direction(21-5 over the last two seasons compared to your Eagles' 14-11). You'll still win more games than you'll lose, I expect you'll both be in the top half of the SBC more often than not, but as I've long said, neither of you are Boise.

....but they are doing better than Boise?

So I'm confused where your logic of not being Boise comes from.

Doing better than Boise how exactly? Over the last eighteen seasons they've won at least ten games fourteen times, lost one or less games eight times, and has fifteen P5 victories and won two BCS bowls and an access bowl.

No, you are not Boise, nor will either of you recreate those achievements.

RE: Conference bowl standings
In college football you never know.
I feel like its becoming harder for the G5 programs to get ahead in football. Anyone think that cost of attendance is an elaborate scheme to lure recruits to only the big schools and potentially cause low level programs to downsize of even quit football all together? As if getting a free education isnt enough already, what kind of message is being sent to the kids? Go to the school that gives you the most money, regardless of whether the head coach actually knows who are as a person? If caring for the kids' overall well being was considered more over the dollar sign, college football would be more unified and there would be no G5 vs P5 nonsense. Boths categories SHOULD represent educational institutions in the United States of American and should have a more leveled playing field. Its a shame that every kid dreams of going to Alabama or Michigan and when they cannot go there they feel bad because they have to settle for East Carolina or Old Dominion.

I think there has to be a minimum of three teams competing per conference. So they might not be eligible.

College football players should get paid. They are literally putting their lives on the line for your entertainment. Consider also that many of these players will not finish college.

They're choosing to do that. Nobody is forcing them. If they don't want to, there are thousands of others who would be happy to get an $80,000+ education/housing/food/bills paid/medical etc. Plus, as of two years ago, they do get paid a couple grand on top of that too.
