I figured the cons have had such big heads in the last 48 hours they need to be reminded how incorrect they are. from the link:

It also falsely claimed that Clinton outpaced Trump by more than 2 million votes in the five counties that comprise New York City, which the story said accounted for the entirety of her lead in the national popular vote. An AP count finds that Clinton beat Trump by roughly 1.5 million votes in New York City. Nationwide, Clinton holds a popular vote lead of more than 2 million.

both these stories were widely reported on here by the cons and one of yall even has it listed in their signature.

She also won LA county by about 1.7mm votes.

So outside NY and LA, she lost by over 1mm votes?? Obviously I'm estimating, but that still proves the point.

Whether it's 57 or 487 is similarly immaterial, since she lost 5 times that many... and the AP has to 'define' counties.

The point is that she won a small fraction of the country... Yes, she won NY and LA by overwhelming margins... but she 'lost' everywhere else.

The left STILL can't see the forest for the trees.

And yes... threads set up where the title alone is an obvious attempt to personally insult half the members of this board (or more) or to simply troll either gets removed... moved to the 'other' forum, or you get a fairly significant penalty for so obviously ignoring the rules.

The final result is all that matters.

The 5 counties that make up NYC plus Philadelphia County in PA cover her 2 million vote lead in the popular vote. I guess those 6 counties are the "shining city on the hill" to libs.

This is the textbook example of moving the goal posts. people commonly cited either LA or NYC as the only reason HRC won the PV but now that that is disproven you switch to both. and for what? this asinine point that the cities somehow don't matter? only a partisan hack buys into that crap. the whole thing is a stupidly incorrect "fact" regarding a stupid soundbite.

No. It's a textbook example of 'you' telling 'us' what we believe/argued. So you're only 'proving' what you CHOOSE to prove, which may or may not be what anyone else ever said.

Perfect example... I never saw ANY claim about the 5 counties in NY... and I specifically made the claim about LA county... PLUS NY County alone... in the days after the election... so I haven't moved any goalposts at all.

I only combined the two arguments here because a) YOU (by posting the article) made the claim about the 5 NY counties and b) when you combine those two pieces, she actually LOSES the 'remaining' popular vote... something I've repeatedly denied exists at all.

The point being, if we're going to pick and choose what we're going to argue about, then you aren't the only one who gets to pick and choose.... JUST because you (once again) CLAIM to have represented what 'we' said.

Nobody is calling it equal. They're specifically pointing out that it's nowhere NEAR equal. Once again, you're trying to define what 'we' mean so that you can marginalize it.

It's not remotely close... and while that isn't worth as much as the popular votes within each state, it IS worth something. Precisely as our founders intended. two votes based on simple geography... and the rest based on population. Appealing to a broader geography isn't worth as much as population, but it's worth more than zero.
