chatter on twitter James Laurinaitis could be joining the staff at some capacity. I believe you can have 10 assistants now and we were only at 9 with Parker.

Don't know how good of a coach the guy is, but man that would be huge. Dude was a an Animal (pun intended) at Ohio State. Per the Bearcats site, we only have 8 assistants, so I think we have room for 2 more. Let me know if I am missing someone, but it looks like the only missed position group is RB.

Mike Denbrock - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks
Marcus Freeman - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Doug Phillips - Special Teams Coordinator/Tight Ends
Ron Crook - Assistant Coach - Offensive Line
Willie Martinez - Assistant Coach - Cornerbacks
Joker Phillips - Assistant Coach - Wide Receivers
Jon Tenuta - Assistant Coach - Safeties
Al Washington - Assistant Coach - Defensive Line

I could see Laurinaitis as a Defense QC guy, not a position related coach. He's fresh out of the NFL, so he'll need some adjustment time.

Room for one more right now. The approval for the 10th assistant will go through in April, but it came out a week ago that they might not implement the change until after next January because of the financial burden on schools.

Fickell's contract. The most impressive part IMHO is he is giving a gift of $60,000 a year to UC student-athletics.

If it is in his contract, doesn't that really mean UC is giving a gift of $60,000 a year to UC student-athletics?

Technically yes but since it shows as income to Coach, he gets to write off the donation.

The $15,000 sportswear budget is pretty nice...how does one even spend that much a year on sports gear? 03-lmfao

Yeah, if you remove a mortgage from the equation, I'm right there with you. That's an insane amount on clothes, even with 6 kids and a wife 03-lmfao

With the price of Under Armour stuff and that you have to wear it nearly 365 days a year...

I spent $300 at Kohl's and $100 at the UC bookstore on clothes last year.

Those Final Four T-shirts sure do last a long time.

If your contract offered you $15k worth of clothes I'm sure you would spend a bit more than $400 per year. Stretch it to $500 at least.

He and his family are expected to been seen in new UA branded apparel only. Every team his kids play on will also be fully equipped with UA compression shirts and jackets as well.

All new stuff valued at MSRP and suddenly 8 pairs of shoes are $1,200 easy. Add in football or soccer cleats or basketball shoes for each kid and I bet the first $3k goes quick.

$15k in apparel is stupid but after he equips the family and adds in shirts for the kids teammates and friends it gets used. I know anything left over is typically donated to local shelters.

My daughters have played soccer in the past with the kids of two sports execs. Both times the dads got uniform apparel from their supplier. The kids got outfitted with significant swag. The MLS stuff was cool the MLG stuff was not quite as cool

A little OT, but I was wondering how they would finesse the renewed Cincinnati focus without alienating other key areas. Pretty good imo :
