SOUTH ALABAMA COVERED PRACTICE FIELD
SOUTH AL has basically copied our concept of the covered practice facility. Theirs will be complete for the fall of 2017 also. Good thing we have our facility in place because we would've had major catching up to do with Troy and South from a facility standpoint.

What about a Sharknado ? Will it survive a Sharknado ?

Hopefully the 3rd grade science teacher that designed it will have considered it's being built on a sandy deposits from the Alabama River delta .

I don't really care what South Alabama or Troy does at this point...because no matter what they build, they can't build another Birmingham.

That's a very good point Phil.

And no, nothing will survive a sharknado

You don't know that. That being said, UAB pavillion looks plain but serviceable. USA just looks much more than just a pavillion.

Its easier to copy and improve than to create. At some point there is gonna be a better facility than Jerry World - Atlanta's new dome? Point is there is always someone going for better(there's always a faster draw)...

RE: SOUTH ALABAMA COVERED PRACTICE FIELD
I might be wrong but I think ours will be more than 65 feet high. There's might be easier to close up though.

Anyway, I'm glad we were comfortable thinking outside the box and starting a trend. Who cares what someone else has, as long as we have something. Better than the nothing we were competing with in the past.

Also, there's looks like a half done gym. Reminds me of the gym they built at my elementary school, Midway through construction. I'm sure that won't take long to build.

RE: SOUTH ALABAMA COVERED PRACTICE FIELD
ALL three of Alabama's nonSEC FBS teams are striving to be the #3 FB program in this state. USA and UAB have their own new pavilion on schedule for summer 2017 and Troy is building new facilities as well. It appears that competition for the #3 FBS program in Alabama is heating up, and by the time UAB returns to the gridiron next year, we had better bring our "A Game" from the beginning to stay in that competition.

We have an "A" coach. No need to worry as long as he is around here.

I agree. I'm not slamming UAB's pavillion I just think South Alabama's looks better. And to be honest, And if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery than we should take note of what USA is doing and iincoporate some of it into our design.
