RE: UCA game thread
Shoshi offensive rebound may have done the trick if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot.

Huge 3-pointer by Johnson. Now we need a stop.

RE: UCA game thread
Porter's stat. We made more FTs than they attempted. And that was the game.

RE: UCA game thread
No. Freak night. Too many turnovers. They shot too well. But a good shooting team can do that.

UCA is much better but we are lacking a killer instinct right now.

They looked real impressive when we saw them play Army and Chatanooga in that tournament we were in. Chatanooga beat them by about 15 or so, but they handled Army without issue.

Didn't we just barely beat them last year in Conway? Give uca some credit for giving another instate d1 team all they wanted. History has shown weaker instate teams can win games at home against better teams.

LOOKING AT THE STATS
2643 was probably a nice attendance for them.

The best news out of the night was Marcus Johnson at 4 of 9 from the arc. This team really, really needs for him to shoot well.

Once again, Shoshi and Black had 8 fouls between them. That has to get better.

17 turnovers. Most nights we wouldn't survive that. We almost did not last night.

Kemy Osse very quietly has become our shooter. 3 of 5 from the arc last night, and now shooting 46.2% for the year.

We shot well - can't complain about that. 50% overall, 50% from the arc, 76% from the line.

We won the boards 36 to 32, and that with our big guys in foul trouble much of the night. Of course, when our point guard gets 7 boards, it always helps.

Maurius Hill had an uncharacteristic off night. 1 of 4 from the field and three turnovers, one of them at a very bad time. Still, he got 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

Ben Marcus. 3 of 3. Andre Jones 4 of 6.

That is why these type of games gin up interest. My guess is that as UCA continues to improve this series will get to be a bigger and bigger thing. That, in and of itself, is good for the state of college basketball in Arkansas.
