Lol...Nah we got beat by a real FBS team not one still talking about their FCS players...ASU Jr.

Aaaaannd you got beat by a real FCS team, as well. I believe their name was Arkansas Jr.

Lol...good comeback. I knew it was coming.

When our two schools get to play again, it's going to be like the Sun Belt kinked a hose, just to see the giant release of water. Can't wait.

Are you saying you are going to piss your pants when you play stAte again?

Good job Cajuns. Seized opportunities and converted. That's what it takes to grind it out in conference play.

Do you really want to go there La-Laffy fan?

We call ourselves ASU, A State, etc.

In the Sun Belt, we don't use ASU officially, as to not be disrespectful to App, who also has used ASU in the past.

I was going to begin using LA, UL and Cajuns when referring to the athletic programs at Louisiana-Lafayette. After this douche post by you, I believe I will keep using whatever pisses Lafayette fans off the most.
Are you serious this was an honest question I've been to several of the games even in your place I never heard the chant. This wasn't a shot at A-St as I have respect for your program. Take a chill pill bro.

Thanks for the explanation by no means was this a shot at you guys I never heard the chant no difference then asking GS fan what GATA meant when I didn't know. When our fans referred to you guys as ASU I would tell them we are not playing App State. My apologies if I offended any A-St fans.

We have been ASU ever since we became a univ. Oddly enough the A-St abbreviation is about 4 days old. Until the SBC gave it too US it was never used...astate yes.

We don't care what you call us as long as it's not Razorback or Arkansas. Mostly, we just want to beat the Cajuns at their place some day. :)

"A-ST" looks weird to me. I think "ARST" would have worked fine, similar to "TXST" for Texas State. I'm assuming there must be a four-character limit. Otherwise, "A-State" would have made sense.

Saturday was a prime example of why football is such a damn fun sport to watch.
AState starts at the 18, mounts a 14 play drive that dies at the one. Punch it in and AState has overcome the pick six for a 14-7 lead and has the momentum. Instead Cajuns go 99 in 11 plays turned things around it took some time for AState to get things going again and it turned out to be too late.

And I especially like the A-St. I haven't seen that before.

There is absolutely no reason for A-State to have lost that game, and even though like Troy the week before A-State was sluggish after their championship game, it was a mismatch every where but on the score board. Rather like the UCA game.

All other things taken into account the only reason they lost was they did not have a kicker, and A-State fans had already come to the conclusion that if they ended up in a close game their kicker very well could cost them a game and he did.

Not blaming the kicker, because like the young man that failed to make the catch for 2 pts, that kicker should never have been on the field at the FBS level, much less put into that situation.

Not knocking the A-State coaches or players, because every team has a couple of these games a year now.

Even being sluggish, the only reason they lost was they did not have a kicker, and A-State fans had already come to the conclusion ( think as early as last spring) that if they ended up in a close game their kicker very well could cost them the game and he did.

I can name several reasons.
Don't use Voytik to pass so defenses ignore the pass threat which is horrible inside the five.
Route confusion giving up a pick six
Undersized secondary

Route confusion may have occurred, but getting belted by Otha Peters resulted in the pick six. If he doesn't make that hit, the route wouldn't have mattered.

I agree (and really like the summary of this game and the season for that matter on View from Section E on AStateNation.com) but all that aside, make the short FG, EX, and catch the in your hands 2 pt try and you have six points, and 6+19 is more than 24).

The fans and the media made note of the fact that the two players involved have demonstrated time and time again they were over their heads, and so losing this game(or one like it) was almost a certainty, and it was a decision your coaches made before the season started.

You are kidding right?

The only SBC team that was going to beat A-State, was A-State, and they just chose to do it this past Saturday. Same as they did against USU and UCA.

I do think it was good for the SBC, that you did what some better SBC teams did not do and beat them, but a big reason you did is that looking at films, you are not very good. They did and that was their undoing.
