You just beat the most listless team at UC in this century at home in overtime. I wouldn't put Tulsa in the top half of the west after that performance.

Props to Cincy for being well prepared and playing their hearts out though.

The quick turn around by Montgomery is impressive. He has emerged as an interesting target on UH message boards. Is teh rivalry about to become teh bidding war?

I think that has a real chance of happening.

It would melt Tulsa fans for decades.

How high do you think Tulsa could go?

How high do you think Tulsa could go?

It would come down to more than money, and Houston would easily tip the scale in their favor.

Only thing that I think might keep them in Tulsa is the fact that they have a daughter who just had to pick up and change schools two years ago. It would be pretty tough to ask your kid to do that again.

Yep, hard for Tulsa to compete against any school with more resources. Facilities and fan support are greater at Houston, plus one of the greatest recruiting areas. However, Montgomery seems to be as honest as they come, a man who values his faith and family above everything else. I believe he stays at Tulsa until his daughter graduates High School. The coaching carousel has become absurd these days. Another job better than UH is on the horizon for Montgomery, but if he suffers a setback the next couple seasons that stunt his arc he is about to earn the kind of security at Tulsa that gives him more time to build his resume. He is due to become the highest paid coach in school history.

I think Tulsa will/would pay whatever Houston offers, two years of suck with Blankenship are too fresh in our boosters minds to lose Monty to Houston. I see Monty staying for two more years until A&M or TCU opens up. I hope we are proactive and offer him 2 mil plus a year before schools start calling.

IMO he would not want to coach a team that directly competes with the TU kids he's trained, nurtured and gotten close to. I can't see him coaching "within the conference" as a competitor, but that doesn't rule out him moving to a better opportunity beyond the AAC.

Loyalty is bs.

Coach Monty is going to do whatever is in the best interest of his financial future.

Hopefully Coog high stays away from him.
