Just told by source the report abt #SMU's Chad Morris having accepted #Baylor job is NOT TRUE and that BU has not offered the job to anyone

Personally I think he should wait it out at SMU for a bigger job than Baylor. Keep SMU trending in the right direction and he could land in the A&M job when it opens up.

Didn't Morris come from Clemson as OC? I figured Philip Montgomery would be in line for this one.

It would make for poor PR since he was a subordination of Briles.

That is a tough job now, they have absolutely no commits for the February signing date, I'm very surprised he is going to Baylor.

As my friend posted elsewhere, SMU is 7-16 under Morris.

SMU is 3-16 when the other team is not named Tulane or North Texas. 2-16 if you discount the win over Liberty.

(Don't forget SMU lost to FCS James Madison last year).

Those 2 wins are against Houston and ECU last week. Basically, Morris is doubling his pay and getting a P5 job on the basis of beating Houston. It's Curly Hallman getting the LSU job based on his Alabama win at Southern Miss.

Temple and Memphis - two good but not great teams - have combined to score 219 in just 4 games against him. 219-67. Alone, Memphis has outscored SMU 114-7.

SMU has lost 4 games by four or more scores this year.

Last year's 548 points given up are the most in school history. 46 ppg.

Wowser. Two takeaways:

1. SMU can do better.
2. Morris is going to fail at Baylor.

Baylor likes coaches named Morris.

If I am SMU, I seriously look at KC Keeler at Sam Houston State.

Dynamic offense. And all he does is win games.

Undefeated this year.

Won a FCS title at Delaware. Made the semifinals the last 2 years at Sam.
