Maybe I missed it but I don't think anyone is talking NBA right now for Detric. I think the real theme of the thread reflects the happiness of playing here and the healthy respect for Tubby combined with the hidden relief that clown shoes is gone.
I do agree with your statement though.

Seriously. Guys don't have to be NBA 'talents' for us to win big. Hopefully everybody learned this when we constantly got steamrolled by teams with inferior talent in the JP era. I know the competition hasn't been great this year (yet) but at least we look like a team and that's extremely refreshing.

From all accounts we are tending up imo. Markel, KJ, etc look vastly improved over the offseason. We know Tubby can coach. Recruiting will be the ultimate hump to conquer. So far he's done solid (but not spectacular) on the trail. Considering the dumpster fire we had become I'm feeling encouraged. Regardless of how it pans out I'm just glad we can be excited for bball again.

So many people around the program are saying Dedric is gone next year, i just don't see it.

Very IMPORTANT stat to keep in mind....2 actually! Number of assists per game, very close to #1 in the NATION and assists to turnover ratio are some of THE MOST telling statistics regarding the team and a barometer.

Sharing the ball at this clip gives a team a chance against ANY opponent and demoralizes most while simultaneously building confidence amongst themselves, which is key to success. Ofcourse we are thin, but with TUBBY @ the helm. One can't help but realize the level of playing that is capable here. Don't underestim8 what is being witnessed as "Once we play legitimate competition, we will come back down reality syndrome"! This is definitely a sign of things to come....#ENJOY

Dedric is something special. I don't know if people realize how great of a Tiger player he is already.

Dedric already has 824 points, meaning he'll likely join the 1,000 point club at in the UCF or Tulsa game.

Assuming he keeps at his scoring pace and Memphis plays two games in the AAC tourney, Dedric would finish his Sophmore season ranked #31.

If he actually stayed all four years, he would easily be the Tiger's all time leading scorer.

He's getting very good at double team recognition too.

Can bring the ball up, passes good.

If that 3 ball ever starts dropping, it would open up the floor even more.

For some reason, we have certain fans like to really devalue players. Dedric is sorely underappreciated by many...
