Would Jr stay as president of Liberty? What capacity would he serve in?

Very interesting. This could lead to all kinds of actions. Will be interesting to follow.

I would think if he has an actual position he will no longer be LU President. If he is simply an advisor, I could see him staying at LU.

RE: This would be a game changer
I can't imagine Jerry Jr. staying on and being Liberty's president and working for the Trump presidency. Both jobs would suffer from the lack of attention and Jerry would suffer from being overworked. I would expect a temporary president to take over unless Jerry's brother, Jonathan Falwell, were to run the school in addition to the church. The Falwell family, for better or worse, has always been synonymous with Liberty University and have had complete control over the direction of the school. I don't know if they would give that up.

If someone else took over for Jerry, then I imagine it to be someone from within, not an "outsider". The Board and Liberty would want someone who represents Liberty, knows Liberty, and will advocate for Liberty and someone who hasn't been at the school wouldn't be as aware of the unique challenges. It is interesting and scary to imagine what someone else would try to do with Liberty. Does he/she change the curriculum? Does he/she want to push the athletics to FBS or rather focus on other things? Does the LU Online get scaled down to curb the "diploma mill" meme? Does the Liberty Way get a makeover? How would the rest of the nation and world view Liberty with a non-Falwell as president?

I think Jerry could do a lot of good in the role he wants in Trump's team. It sure puts a lot of perspective into his unwavering campaigning for Trump.

RE: This would be a game changer
An important question is why woud JFJr express an interest to join the prez elect and his administration. Do his ambitions go beyond LU? If he was asked to join that is one issue. If he expressed the interest to the prez elect, which has been reported, then he's on a different path and has interest beyond LU. He cannot wear 2 hats in those positions and be productive.

I simply want a president totally sold out to the Liberty Way, building champions for Christ, and who has a passion to develop a prestigious university for higher learning while keeping in touch with the needs of the common man, and who has a passion for championship caliber college athletics.

Appears Jr is not in the running to be sec of education. Will likely play a role as a consultant.

Wow! Apparently Jerry turned down the Sec of Ed cabinet position with Trump to stay at LU. He only wanted to commit to 2 years and Trump wanted 4-6 year commitment.
