Uconn An Cincinnati to the Mac football only?????
All other sports to the Big East would strengthen both the big east and the Mac, would elevate the Mac to AAC strength and make their existing Football schools more respectable.

"would elevate the Mac" you realize uconn and cincy are arguably 2 of our worst teams in football this year

what would cincy or uconn gain by that anyways
cincy and uconn have problems right now, but its self inflicted problems, not ones in which the league is holding them back

Adding Kentucky to the AAC would raise AAC football to SEC strength

Obviously both schools need new offensive coordinators and or new head coaches

Yeah, because Cincy really wants to share a conference with Ohio, Toledo, Akron, Bowling Green, and Kent State, all programs from which UC has worked tirelessly to separate themselves.

Now if UConn and UMass want to revisit the MAC deal, then whatever floats your boat. You can have a nice little New England rivalry in the MAC East.

After losing to Wagner and Albany, I think the Big East takes a pass on UCONN. They don't want to lower their RPI.

I could see a scenario where UCONN and Cincy go to MAC for all sports. Both could potentially get to .500 in football some day, while MAC BB gets a boost.
The AAC might even push for that.

RE: Uconn An Cincinnati to the Mac football only?????
Forget the troll aspect of the this thread for a minute and think about this possibility.

Cincinnati, UConn, Temple, Memphis to the Big East for all sports but football and MAC football only.

Big East:Play everyone in the same division twice and everyone in the opposite division once except for one mirrored rivalry game. 20 conference games.
East: UConn, Temple, Villanova, Georgetown, St. John's, Providence, Seton Hall
West: Cincinnati, Memphis, Creighton, DePaul, Marquette, Butler, Xavier

MAC: Four pods that make up two divisions every season, play everyone in the division once, play four teams in another pod that make up the division, and two crossover games. 9 conference games.
North: WMU, EMU, CMU, Buffalo
East: Akron, Kent, Temple, UConn
West: NIU, Ball State, Toledo, BGSU
South: Memphis, Cincinnati, Ohio, Miami

Both the MAC and Big East division setups protect rivalry games. The four school that leave the American will receive more money through the Big East TV deal and would be reunited with long time rivals. As a UC fan I would be excited to for this setup over what we have now. Having regional teams back on the schedule in both sports would be a huge a benefit. A 16 team MAC would probably compete with the American and MWC for the New Years Six bowl game. The slight downgrade in football conference is offset by positives in almost every other aspect.

Temple says no thanks.

I imagine my Memphis boys will decline but I can't speak for them.

Enjoy Tuesday night MACtion in front of 6,478 without us.

Cincy's football program is fine, they will be back to an upper level conference program once we find a new coach. It's not some fundamental issue with UC.

Even with that scenario the AAC still the more sexy.
