SMU loss is just a bad loss. Your own points highlight that Navy loss would be less damaging in the committee's eyes.
We're talking about the overall rankings for the top 4 not the chances for the G5 champ consolation prize.

Today's rankings make it clear that an undefeated UH wouldn't be anywhere near the top 4----probably wouldn't even be top 10. Lol---UL at #5----The whole thing is a farce designed to get the best brand names in the semis---it's clear now it's about who travels best---not SOS.

To be fair, Michigan has wins over Colorado, Wisconsin and Penn State. Louisville's only good win and best win is over Florida State. Ohio State has wins over OU (overrated as they may be), Wisconsin, Nebraska and Tulsa (losses to Navy, Ohio State and Houston), so I think it's fair.

Ohio State or Michigan will lose at least once more to each other, so Louisville can still be 4 if they win out. Louisville's biggest problem is Washington.

If wishes were fishes, there would be no room for water in the sea.

The real sham is Colorado at 10. If they are at 10, then both Houston and Navy should be in the top 15. Houston's best wins are better than their best wins and their worst loss isn't as bad as it looked at the time.
