Congrats
It was a strange season for me in the Spin Room. For years, I tended to side more with the right leaning posters. But this year was the first time I was squarely at odds with them most of the time. I'm a libertarian-ish moderate who's been kind to plenty of Republican candidates in the past. But aside from a few things, I can't align myself with the Trump-Breitbart type of politics and messaging.

That said, Trump deserves credit for working the election to his favor, pulling off upset after upset. He knew what positions to promote that would give him an edge. I'm not one to root against our POTUS to "prove a point." So I hope he proves me wrong and does well. Hell, if he surprises me during his term, I'll sing his praises in 2020.

So, congrats on the victory, I know the SR had morphed into a Trump HQ over the past 12 months. So you deserve to spike the football.

RE: Congrats
Also, a few helpful pieces of advice for Democrats. Take these as teachable moments:

1. Rust Belt "liberals" are single issue voters. They aren't like the top-to-bottom liberals of the coasts. They are concerned with one thing: Labor and pro-protectionist policies. And they'll flip on a dime. Hillary thought she had this region in the bag and took it for granted. But MI/OH is a different animal than VT/NY.

2. Tone down your SWJ/White Privilege/Safe Space preaching. Some PC behavior is fine and all. But there was a sharp increase in this "out there" nonsense in the past few years, especially on our college campuses. You take it too far, backlash happens.

3. Hollywood celebs aren't doing you any favors either. "Common folk" I described in #1 are more likely to get turned off by elite Beverly Hills millionaires like Barbra Streisand and Cher.

4. Start with a larger primaries stage. If the GOP was a crowded circus, the Democratic stage was too sparse. You need about 5-7 to start with and weed out, not 3. She was already anointed without property investigating if she was really the best choice to take home the W. Bernie's socialism would've scared the crap out of me, too, but he would've bagged all or most of WI/MI/OH/PA.

Thanks. For most of Us Trump wasn't Our first choice but after a while You felt a need for serious change in each party. The old ways weren't working. Many folks felt the system had failed Them and only catered to the spoiled few. Open borders, fighting wars with no intent to win them, rigged media bias, a failed Major Medical plan that really is not affordably and actually covers very little, looking the other way on someones questionable shady dealings and covering them up are just a part of the lure for Trump. Is He perfect, Hell No. But You can not ever say He hasn't worked harder than any other candidate out there. Spent a 100 million dollars of His own money vs the DNC Billion dollar campaign for Hillary and He was competitive at the end. You can't over look any of it. 04-cheers

Congrats to Trump. I can't believe he did it but he did. This should now put to rest all the bs rigged crap. I hope he puts the showmanship, school yard bully persona behind him lives up to his acceptance speech. Hopefully he surrounds himself with knowledgeable people & listens to them. If he does this he will be successful. Congrats to President Trump.
