RE: OT: Game 7!!!
What a freaking game!! Son and I stayed up for the entire game. Looks like someone now wants a baseball glove for Christmas.

RE: OT: Game 7!!!
Between last night and Game 7 in 2014 between the Royals and Giants, we've had some fantastic World Series endings the last few years. What an amazing game.
The rain delay reminded me of the lights going out at the Super Bowl a few years ago with the Ravens and 49ers. The Niners came back and almost won despite being dominated beforehand, and I think the Cubs benefited in the same way. They came back with a renewed focus and were able to take the life out of the crowd right away in the 10th, before that you almost got the sense that they were destined to somehow choke the game away. Plus, the fact Shaw stayed in from before the delay didn't help the Indians either.

SCD Jr. has stayed up late for the last two games. Even allowed him to sleep in and go in an hour late to school. All last night he was heckling each Indian pitcher through the TV!
Yep, been watching the games with my 8 year old. He's never been into baseball before this post season but now knows most of the players and is learning the rules of the game. He's rooting for the Cubs but mainly because his best friend is rooting for the Indians.
What are friends for. Lol

That quite honestly might have been the most exciting baseball game I ever watched. Didn't really have a rooting interest beyond the fact that CJ Edwards is from SC and I know his former HS coach, but I would have been OK with it had Cleveland won. Between the fact that both teams were short on pitching making every pitch count, the rain delay, the comebacks by both teams, extra innings and the freaking fact it was Game 7 the drama was incredible.

John Lester pitched for our Single A Greenville Drive while he rehabbed back in 2006. Even married a local girl from SC.
Strong ties to the Upstate of SC and region in that World Series. Even one of the umpires grew up in Asheville.
Edwards got the game closed down and buttoned up. But I swear, if he would stand sideways and stick out his tongue he'd look like a zipper, he's so skinny!
It was a great series by two great teams that deserved the crown but there is only one!

When you get a chance Google and see if you can find the story about him playing in the "Bush" League when he was a teenager. When I was at Newberry I played a few games as a fill-in for a friend of mine's team and let me tell you if he could survive playing in a league of mostly 30-40m year old country strong black men he can survive anything. Them old boys were serious about their baseball.
