Must be divisional games because crossovers aren't played every year.
Say what you want but ECU's rivalry game is against Limestone! Go ECU! Beat the Saints!

Tulsa-Houston
SMU-Navy (Navy wants to be in the west to play in Texas for service recruiting)
Memphis-Tulane
Or perhaps swap Tulsa and Memphis and have Tulsa-Tulane (both private) and Memphis-Houston (both large urban public)
The East would be:
USF-UCF, of course.
Then I'm not sure. I think the other 4 could be interchangeable. UC/Temple/UConn/ECU.
If you were going to pair Tulsa with another private it would be SMU. We dislike them. They tend to hand upsets to our good teams.
Tulsa had good cross-division things going with UCF and ECU because we were frequently playing for championships.
I'd say
4 the avg. Tulsa fan
The Top Yearly Rivalries 4 Tulsa are:
SMU, Houston, & Memphis
Tulsa has alot of History w/ those folk's
These teams seem 2 raise
the Blood Pressure, Adrenalin, & Testosterone levels the MOST,

Never (NEVER!) show disrespect for the Civil ConFLiCT. If only UCF would manufacture a rivalry with ECU.

If we play the same team every year on the final weekend, at least 1/2 the time we won't be playing home games on Thanksgiving weekend in front of no students and a whole lot of empty seats because of fans traveling to be with family.

The problem under the current arrangement is that with Memphis not in our division, we won't play them for two years. (Except we will play them December 3 this year)
In division then, the FL twins are out, UConn has a rivalry, Cincy has rivalries already, so that leaves ECU. Interestingly, Temple and ECU had a good series of games in the 80's and 90's. Recently, we knocked them out of the top 20 2 years ago, and they had a shot to do the same to us last year.
Geographically though UConn would be the best fit. If only anyone in Philly cared about UConn.
When I think of football rivalries, my definition is this: if you lost every game except against your rival, you would still consider that a successful season.
I feel like there would be interest on the ECU side for something with Temple from the older fans like myself that remember some those games. Something as a last game every year might develop nicely as long as we continue beating up on one another enough to make it interesting, like our newly developed rivalry with UCF. There was already heat on the ECU side for that one based on the Marcus Crandell injury.

I'd accept that, if USF wasn't interested. UCF has made it pretty competitive the last few years.

And of course this year, Temple-ECU will be the last game of the season! Maybe the conference is trying to create a rivalry here? I could see times ahead where this would be a battle for the East, or at least a chance to play spoiler for one team.

I have to agree, was a solid competitive series and will be again.

Hopefully you're right and they've figured that out.
Hopefully by then we can actually get the ball across the goal line on a regular basis. My gut tells me this one isn't close and you kill us.
