Saw where former UC OL coach Darren Hiller left UH to go to Indiana (he was just hired at Houston a month ago).

1 Game (they lost) and out the door. Steve Sarkesian is leaving Alabama to be the OC for the Atlanta Falcons. Seems about right.

Smart move. After spending a month getting abused by Saban he was probably ready to head back to the bottle.

Yes - because Alabama's system philosophy is just now getting ironed out at this point of the offseason.

Sounds like LSU's Ed Orgeron has burned some major bridges in New Orleans and throughout the state of Louisiana.

Figured some of y'all would get a kick out of this:

Actually I think TT would be a better politician than fb coach at this point in his life. He is still beloved down there

There is something wrong with him. As our coach and as a fired coach, he has these illusions of grandeur.

RE: Coaching vacancies...
I don't really want to turn this into a new bash CTT thread as we've had way too many of those and it's a moot issue now, but since this thread is presumably just about over I thought I'd throw one more tidbit in. Unfortunately it's subscriber only so I can't read it:

Tuesdays with Tuberville: Inside the hiring, firing of coaches

But it was brought up on a Nebraska board and elicited an interesting comment:
Quote:Maybe it's just my interpretation of that article, but he's basically blaming his coaching failures because his assistants couldn't recruit and hardly at all on coaching. Now, at a school like Auburn, that may be true, but at a mid-tier school like Cincinnati, coaching is going to play a major factor. You obviously aren't going to be able to recruit at an elite or very high level, so you're going to have to coach the kids up. Why does Wisconsin continuously have success and recruit at a lower level? Why does UCLA continuously get high level talent and still suck every year?

comments are dead on

It's been stated and its true: his style just didn't work at a place like UC

Now, compare that to CLF. Night and day.

Perfect politician. He already did a fine job of convincing people with money to invest in shady hedge funds. That ended well.
