Everyone who thinks Fuente tanked is FOS. We we were owning Houston and 2 turnovers and a missed FG in the 4th Qtr cost us the game.

Against temple the team was emotionaly spent after 2 tough losses and PAxton was not 100%. Even then we were compettive in the 4th Qtr and the game did not get away from us until late.

If Fuente was tanking, we would have gotten whipped at Houston and at Temple.

I believe he is already thinking about his next job. Once they lost to Navy, and then the whole non-expansion news hit, which was a nut kick, I believe the wind went out of their sails. Squeaking by Tulsa last week and now this first half performance looks a lot like his coaches have quit working so hard.

The real question is: where is he headed? LSU? Longhorn land?

I too hope we kick their azz at LBMS this year - we owe them.

I don't remember a coach just stepping down halfway through year...I'd assume he'll finish season just because I don't remember a situation where it's happened

Heard on the broadcast they lost 3 key linemen to injury. Instead of escaping, their qb would usually get sacked. Give SMU credit, they found ways to score.

Didn't other teams start approaching Fuente after we upset Ole Miss? One rumor was South Carolina was talking to him for 3 weeks but things broke down.

I don't think that Fuente "tanked" it, but I believe that he, and the coaching staff, were distracted and that the players sensed this and were affected by it. After the Ole Miss win, I believe that VaTech and other were in communication with Fuente and it took away from his focus (there is no way that it couldn't). It definitely had a negative impact and I think that may be contributing to Houston's current struggles, as well.
