Oar burning
I finally got around to seeing a replay of our game against Akron, and the supposed oar burning that took place.... Terry Bowden denied this took place at his press conference. I recorded the video, here it is:

Reminds me of when scUM threw that spike into the Spartan Stadium turf, and Dantonio proceeded to run up the score on them.

Just not a smart move on the part of huge underdogs. Those antics just backfire.

Our Broncos said all they needed to say where it mattered most: 60 minutes on the field.

41 to zip.

+1 04-rock

This season is exciting. We need to savor it game-by-game. It can all come crumbling down after one 1-point loss...

EMU ain't gonna roll over.

Man that took some courage to do that after watching game film on WMU. Looks like something a strength coach would encourage...without the head coach knowing it.

Ill advised equivalent to trash talking in an interview and providing bulletin board material. This may have been worse as it,was, done in full public view while TV cameras videoed the act. I'm sure Bowden wouldn't have chosen this method to motivate his team. The Broncos defended their honor our boys crushed them and embarrassed them during a televised game. The public now knows who's a contender and who's a pretender GoBroncos!!!!

FYI WMU fans:
Became part of the column written on Fleck by NIU's former Sports Information Director Mike Korcek.

Mr. Korcek nailed it. NIU should be supporting P.J. Fleck except when NIU plays WMU. Not only is he bringing recognition to WMU the media has repeatedly mentioned his playing days at NIU and talk about how he was one of the best receivers NIU ever had, dispite the fact he was "too short" to be a receiver.

RE: Oar burning
What's funny is over at zipsnation.org they must be hiding under a rock because no one over there knew that the "Row the Boat" mantra came as a way to honor the son P.J. Fleck lost shortly after that son was born, and every interview he gives with national media members like Scott Van Pelt and Jim Rome he has to answer the question where the "Row the Boat" mantra comes from and he always, since he was hired has more than willingly talked about it being a way to honor his son.
