I thought Liberty was different now?
I know you all just love another Liberty thread, but I couldn't help myself. Especially considering all the Liberty supporters who have said Liberty is not the Liberty it once was under Falwell Sr.

What say you now?

What does this have to do with football. Take this opinionated / political garbage to an open board.

I could give a rat's ass about who they support politically. The real issue is their perpetuation of young earth creationism.

RE: I thought Liberty was different now?
I guess the real story is manipulation of the press. Which has been going on for a long time in the main stream media, but in the way that hurts Trump and protects Hillary.

I'm sure this will get moved/deleted.

But I'll say that as bad as what Trump said on that tape was. In my opinion, it wasn't a description of the definition of sexual assault. It simply wasn't.

He said he started to kiss them, without waiting. He never said that he didn't stop if the woman shut him down. He even said he was shut down.
He never said that he went on to the grabbing part if a woman wasn't receptive to the initial onset of kissing. He said that they would "let" him do the other part. He didn't say he did it whether they would let him or not. There is a difference. And I doubt that many of us in our day gave a verbal play by play before each step in moments of this kind of interaction. Who stops and says, I'm going to do this or that now.. Is that ok? No I think most guys would begin to make a move and if they get shut down, they stop. He didn't say he didn't/wouldn't stop.

And to be honest, we all know that what he said about some women letting celebrities do whatever they want is true. See back stage at a rock concert and the star struck waiting in line for "their turn".

I'm not defending his statements. But let's not say it was something it wasn't. He was wrong to say it. He was married after all, and that was part of what made it so bad to me. That and he tried to get with a married women, the one who shut him down as the tape stated.

No politics on the main forum, unless you are endorsing Chiefsfan for President. Then it's fine.

RE: I thought Liberty was different now?
Rev, Tom and the many others whom I debated and bantered in the past on the validity of Liberty being different with JFJr vs. Jerry Falwell Sr., and deserving of an FBS invite, I was wrong. You were right. On the Liberty forum I've strongly stated my disappointment of JFJr. actions. I was snookered like many others.

For what's it's worth, I did resign as a Mod on the Liberty board as I could not be associated with a school/organization/business that makes political endorsements and makes periodic idiotic statements. That gets me an Atta Boy, LU becomes even more alienating, and that leaves those sincere, logical, reasonable LU fans (not the extremists) on the LU board hoping for indy membership.

It's time for me to eat crow. Maybe I'll pick up some karma points.

Kudos to this kid for sticking up for his beliefs! This whole political nightmare has America on it's heels. If you dislike the one, the supporters assume you are with the other. Never has an us against the enemy been felt politically in most of our lifetimes.
I personally refuse to vote for either one. I wish others would forget the "lesser of two evils" notion and do the same. Johnson may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but he would neither attempt to censor the media (Trump) nor would he attempt to cover it up (Clinton).
We can do better America! We deserve better!
My political rant for the decade.

My dream at this point is for there to be a shakeup in the GOP, Bill Weld becomes a Republican again, and he snags the the 2020 nomination with Johnson as his VP.

That or, y'know, one of the major parties just picks ANY candidate that's worth voting for.

Is that too much to ask?

I agree. Had Weld been the Liberterian nominee this may have been a different election.

I am voting for Gary Johnson, but if the ticket were flipped, I would NOT vote for Weld.

If Rand Paul left the Republican Party and ran as a Libertarian, it would be my dream scenario. Or if Austin Peterson had won the Libertarian nomination...he was another one of my closest to ideal choices.

Kudos to this kid for sticking up for his beliefs! If the reference to "kid" is my post, thanks for making my day. I'm retiring and moving to FL after the first of the year.

Are they still officially anti-gay, anti-free thought, anti-muslim, anti-catholic, etc etc etc? Then 05-nono to entrance to the Sun Belt. There are several schools that are not as bigoted as Liberty who have better athletic programs.
