Liberty Bowl and the Big XII
As we all know, the Liberty Bowl game, played in Memphis, is tied into the $EC and the BIG XII. I've always supported and gone to the LB games in the past, just to support the local bowl game. Never again. I've bought my last ticket and gone to my last LB game until the B12 is no longer a part of it.

RE: Liberty Bowl and the Big XII
If you read or listened to the ISU radio interview, he was very candid about this whole thing. He basically said it was a money grab and that the whole purpose of this charade was to; keep OU & UT happy by not expanding as they were against it the whole time, and to force the networks to pay more to not expand and close the pro rata loop hole. Here are some highlights:

http://kxno.iheart.com/onair/n-a-52935/j...-15213092/

"The Big 12 exists because we've got Texas and Oklahoma in the room. If you take Texas and Oklahoma out of the room, we're the Mountain West and we're going to get $3 million. We've got a team with two star players, Texas and Oklahoma, and I'm okay to be on a team with two star players."

"What I do know is at 10, we give ourselves a lot more flexibility down the road vs. adding members that would clutter up the process. People say in eight or 10 years Texas and Oklahoma are going to bolt. But if Texas and Oklahoma don't want us to add members, I guarantee you if we added members and forced it on them, they'd bolt. That's the part of this process people aren't thinking about."

"The only difference between Iowa State and the schools that didn't get in yesterday is the fact we're on the inside looking out and they're on the outside looking in."

Memphis fans should have boycotted the Liberty Bowl years ago.

What he said may all be true, but I think he opened his mouth a little too wide too soon.

Not sure why? What did the Big 12 do wrong?

They used the schools in the AAC for their own financial gain. The AAC schools were nothing more than pawns in their game. Our schools wasted time and money on a dog and pony show that was all a fake charade. Big 12 did nothing "wrong" with regards to being greedy and trying to maximize their money......... but for you to act like the fans of the schools that were dicked along this fake charade should not feel animosity....... that's pretty shallow of you.

Its like a douchebag guy going on dates for a year with an average chick and pretending to be serious about her only to be really doing that as a show to snatch a hot chick...... and when the gig is up and it comes out that it was just a facade....... you wouldn't call him an a$$hole? You would say that he did "nothing" wrong?

The Texas Bowl, in Houston, is also a Big 12 Bowl.

Liberty Bowl and the Big XII
I stopped supporting due to two reasons:

The officials never hid their bias to the SEC as everything SEC was given prime sloting as opposed to CUSA even though Memphis was a CUSA school.

The way they pushed CUSA aside for the Big 12. Let's face it Liberty should be with the AAC now as our prime bowl outside of the access bowl.

Might want to ask what they did right to save some time.

I'll provide the beers and lawn chairs if you want to sit out in front of the LB and make fun of B12 during their game.

Is there any political pressure Memphis/AAC can use to get AAC the spot over Big-12?

Is anything going to happen with the AAC's Austin Bowl? I'm beginning to think it fell apart, because UT didn't want them to have it and/or use their stadium.

Aresco is talking about pushing the P6 narrative, but nobody will take that seriously if our champ is playing the #9 ACC team in a bowl. We need to find a way to get on board with a Liberty / Russel Athletic / Texas / Belk caliber bowl.
