The fallout of there decision today not to expand should be very interesting indeed, I just wonder who's heads are going to roll and who will be doing the chopping

Regardless of who may or may not have gotten in, I think it is pretty short sited on the Big 12's part to not expand. They have already been passed by the ACC and are in sole possession of #5 in the P5. They will only get more behind by kicking the can down the road.

Actually he is not that far from being wrong! As soon as Texas and Oklahoma find a new home they are gone. Not necessarily to the same place, most likely not. As far as that goes expansion would have made no difference what so ever.

2025 will see a new b12 with a few Aac teams included.

Doubt it. That goose is cooked. The financials to leave the AAC by then simply wouldn't merit paying such a sum to join with those scallywags. ESPN/Fox are probably done with them anyway after being held up.

That said,IMHO UT and OU spent time negotiating more money for the entire league. And ESPN/fox were happy to give so as not to pay 2 to 4 more teams $25mm.

Then afternoon all of the other school presidents left the room the OU and UT lawyers asked ESPN/fox if they might have time for lunch to discuss an exit strategy to get away from those eight deadweight schools.

In this scenario, UT and OU negotiate spots in the Big 10 and SEC (or ACC or PAC). It will cost ESPN/fox a little money to move the chess pieces prior to 2025, but with no GOR the Big XII falls apart.

This move saves ESPN/fox $240 million - $24million these eight teams will make in their new leagues. They net $216 million. And that helps their stocks.

Now they get another MWC type property for another low population area. And only 4 conferences remain. That works out nicely for an 8-team playoff.

I would have thought the opposite, that the better teams would have been more likely to leave if the conference picked up scrubs. See Louisville and Rutgers from Big East when we picked up C-USA teams like mine.
