UCF lost to Tulsa in the CUSA championship in 2012. Conference changed from BE to AAC in April 2013.

Not that it matters...

Many of our schools have been part of a string of conferences, with Louisville, TCU, Rutgers, etc.. Conference affiliation is very much fluid.

Who came from the MAC?

South Florida - Big East
Temple - Big East
UCF - CUSA
UConn - Big East
ECU - CUSA
Cincy - Big East
Navy - Ind
Memphis - CUSA
Houston - CUSA
Tulsa - CUSA
Tulane - CUSA
SMU - CUSA

Big east kicked temple out due to a lack of commitment to athletics. They joined the Mac.

I thought they re-joined the Big East in 2012 pre-AAC. My bad.

Actually they kinda did. The C7 was still part of the BE when Temple was brouhjt back (Villanova was part of the press conference to welcome Temple.) Temple replaced W. Virginia. Then Temple played one year (FB only) when Rutgers and Louisville were still in the league and brought their Olys in a year later. By that time the C7 departed and bought the BE name. So yeah, Temple to BE from the MAC ( for FB only 1 year), then AAC for all sports the following season.

This. I predict a situation similar to the Big East + C-USA mash-up that became the American to happen between the remaining Big 12 members and the AAC.

Pretty much the same crappy money as before, and same G(something) status, just get to play Kansas State and Texas Tech every now and then.

The Big East invited teams from 4 different places (MWC, Indy, CUSA, MAC).

And ended up adding 1 team from the MAC, 1 Indy, and 7 from CUSA. I don't see the currant setup of the AAC as superior to the big east one bsu and sdsu walked away from.

Temple came from the MAC in 2012. Temple played as an Indy in 2005 and played in the MAC for 6 years from 2006 from 2011. Their last year in the MAC was very successful as they played in the 2011 New Mexico Bowl where they beat Wyoming.
Cheers!
