Going to a bowl game will top off the season for a first year coach, and great team.

Some people on here were actually going to be happy with a 6-6 season.

I think, going forward, there equal odds of going 6-0, 5-1, or 4-2.

I had 4-2 because of the temple Thursday night hangover from Ole Miss

I said 7-5 or 6-6 for the season with possible losses to Navy USF UH and Cincy late

Cincy don't look very good right now but Tulsa is a lot better

My prediction could still come true

You are saying 2-4 or 1-5 is still a possibility?

Pfft.

Probably not 1-5 at this point but 2-4 is certainly possible

I'm thinking 3-3 for 8-4 is a good bet

I just don't see us beating Houston, USF and Navy

Hope I'm wrong

That is fair...

Those are games that will essentially be very tight lines. I say we win one of those and lose one we shouldn't.

We have been lucky with turnovers so far this year...We cannot continue to count on those.

Our OLine may be better than they have looked...If that gets cleaned up we may have a shot though. I don't think it is all talent issues.

I thought 4-2 at this point.

How much of this is Norvell...and not Fuente's leftovers with experience? Guess we'll find out as Fu's recruits graduate.
I'm so hoping this guy stays with us for awhile. If we had been included in expansion...I would've thought he'd be here for awhile...unless he left for a better p5 job. Now with the way he recruits here....if he starts winning big...schools may start seriously looking at him after next year.

4-2 and I think we are 7-5 or 8-4 by year's end. I think that's most likely but I got blasted on another thread for my opinion. I think some fans need to wake up and take a hard look at the Tigers and what they are capable of. Even if we go 7-5 this season it's a very successful season considering where we have been and the fact we have a new coach and our NFL caliber QB is gone. 8-4 or better and I think we have a season that even Fuente would have been hard pressed to equal had he stayed.

Norvell has already recruited at a level far higher than Fuente - and all props to Fuente for what he did with what he had coming in 2012, and raising this program's floor, but I think I like what I see outta Norvell so far more.

The Tigers O-line is going to be a problem somewhere down the line. When they line up against big DL they will be in trouble. Thast what happened at ole miss and we will see big defenses with Houston and South Florida.

The offensive and defensive lines.....if Norvell can improve those during his tenure, we will need to build a statue of him.

Minimum of 8-4. We have legit shot at 11-1, if Offense finds it's groove (OL blocking + QB/WR syncing).

I thought 4-2 with news coach and QB. 4 of first 5 were at home with short Oxford trip. Then Rebuilding again Tulane on the road. But Coaches and players deserve congratulations for going 5-1.

I had us at 7-6. Got to say i'm happy to see not only the wins but the discipline installed by fuente still remain or maybe it's even better. I'm liking how this team operates. They know what they are doing out there and the coaching staff has the team ready for all situations. The players have bought in. We got a lot of young players playing and the future looks good, imo.

1 win from being bowl eligible.

After the lull at the end of TW's career into Porter's tenure and Fuente's first 2 seasons, can't take postseason for granted, no matter the locale.

From extra practices to perception of a healthy program to building and maintaining a fan base, etc.

I agree. Our defense and special teams are strong enough to keep us in all the games. But we could be really good if we become more consistent offensively and eliminate the penalties. The schedule is pretty favorable too. At Navy will be tough but Cincy and SMU are very winnable road games. I think we will beat Tulsa and have a very good shot at USF and UH at home.

So far the staff has been good at halftime adjustments when we've struggled in the first half

Still worried about both lines and depth at linebacker

Is there a game left we can win? SMU, USF, Cinci, Houston. Maybe Cinci, doubt SMU now, no chance Houston, USF they play some defense.

I say we win 2 out of the remaining 4. Cincy and USF. Maybe SMU.

If we don't improve on last night's performance, then 1 or even 0 out of the remaining 4.
But, I believe we'll improve. Last night was a perfect storm.
