Still waiting on the AP poll but we're currently 8TH in the Massey composite rankings. Crazy. There may be a few ratings still to be added but it looks like most are accounted for.

RE: Up to #20 in the Coaches Poll
Lets go down the list and examine some important games remaining on the schedule for some of the top 20 teams we should be able to jump

#7 Louisville: vs NC State and @Houston. I think they will drop one of those games.

#8 Nebraska: @Wisconsin, @OSU left. Currently 6-0. Another team that might be hard to jump if they only have 1 loss.

#9 Baylor: Has Texas, Oklahoma, West Virginia left. They are currently undefeated. May be difficult to jump them if they only have 1 loss.

#10 Nebraska: A team with 2 "quality losses". They have #8 Nebraska left. I gotta believe we jump them if they have three losses.

#11 Houston: vs. #7 Louisville... They have SMU, UCF, Tulane, and Memphis remaining as well but I don't think they lose to anyone else.. Louisville vs. Houston.. can they both just lose to each other please?

#12 West Virginia: They have #16 Oklahoma and #9 Baylor left... they could easily lose to one of those.. also have @Texas remaining which you never know what kinda performance you'll get from them.

#13 Florida State: vs Clemson, NC State, and Florida... all possible losses. Already a 2 loss team, they lose one more and they will drop out of the top 25.

#14 Boise State - Bronco Bros: Lets just hope they lose next week to BYU...

#15 Florida: Still have a lot of road games left @Arkansas, @LSU, @Florida State

#16 Oklahoma: 2 losses already. Have Baylor and WVU remaining still.

#17 Arkansas: Another 2 loss team that has Auburn, Florida, LSU left. One more loss and they drop out.

#18 Tennessee: They have a fairly easy schedule here on out. Game of note to wrap up the season - @Vanderbilt. Will the fighting Vandy's win and save their season and their coach?!

#19 Utah: Have #5 Washington and Colorado left. They will likely lose to one of those teams and drop out.

Moral of the story: Lets hope SEC and Big 12 teams beat up on each other and hope for an Houston, Boise State, and Louisville loss to a team they should have beaten. Stay undefeated and reap the rewards of a NY6 game!

Wherever we are in polls - good.

Most important things are win MAC West division championship and MACC game.

Then go from there as far as polls and more importantly bowl game.

Boise still has Air Force to play, a game they could clearly lose, and the League championship game. I don't necessarily think this is the most powerful Boise team either. And my guess is that Houston will be a decent underdog when they play Louisville. Lots of possibilities this year.

ESPN matchup predictor has WMU at 96.9% certainty to win against EMU.

In addition to Boise St and Houston, looks like we also need Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Arkansas to lose.

RE: Up to #20 in the Coaches Poll
MAC schools usually stall about 15th-18th in polls as their power ratings nosedive in conference schedule. WMU needs Illi to upset someone and Northwestern to keep winning. Like someone said above, win the MAC outright and good things will happen in Kalamazoo

RE: Up to #20 in the Coaches Poll
Probably a good thing EMU comes in at 5-2 and is an actual player in the division this season.

Anyone who's followed intrastate games over the past 20 years knows that even the worst EMU teams will play out of their minds and kick us or CMU in the nutz on occasion. They could be 0-fer, but they would treat the Michigan MAC games as their superbowls.

Now we've handled them well these past couple years, took care of business. And it should go that way again this year. But they can bite.

Get past EMU, and it should be smooth sailing (pun semi-intended) until Toledo, unless the football gods create some apocalypse.
