Quote:We've just opened at -23 or so against EMU. I will probably look to take the points at that number.
I would Not go with that. Not saying it can't be beat, especially since it's at home (and not on the B&W prison field which can be distracting).
I know I'm going to sound like a debbie-downer.... Although our running game was great against Akron, if someone told me, given their Horrible D this year, that we'd shut them out -- I'd say we'd score over 50 points without flinching. Instead, our O stalled for a good portion of the game after the 1st 4 TD possessions, and we got 41 at the end. Point being, our O can be stopped, despite amazing running stats and a decent pass %.
EMU's D looks like it can step up. And they will be FIRED UP for this game. Their O can score too, and our D can step up on drives, but it's no brick wall.
I could see this being like the NIU game -- where we don't pull away until the end, and win by a couple possessions. Would not shock me in the least -- although I so desperately want us to pound them into the ground. But to be fair, I also wouldn't be shocked if we ran away with it either and win by 30.
I would put a fair spread @ 17.
