Camellia Bowl:
Schlabach: South Alabama vs. Akron
McMurphy: Appalachian State vs. Toledo
AutoNation Cure Bowl
Schlabach: UCF vs. Appalachian State
McMurphy: UCF vs. South Alabama
R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
Schlabach: Georgia Southern vs. Southern Miss
McMurphy: Georgia Southern vs. Southern Miss
Dollar General Bowl
Schlabach: Troy vs. Western Michigan ( Bring them on)
McMurphy: Troy vs. Western Michigan
NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl
Schlabach: Idaho vs. Wyoming
McMurphy: Idaho vs. Nevada
This is easily a best case scenario for all teams involved. If bowl's were allowed to choose who they would like based on their geographic location within their tie-in's, this would increase interest among fans immensely.
Troy and WMU would be a show down and both could possibly be ranked. USA against UCF would most likely result in USA having a good showing because we all know how their team is now after two years of similar results again name-brand programs. Idaho or NMSU getting bowl eligible would actually make accepting the Arizona Bowl reasonable.
The thing is, they are forgetting that even though Arkansas State is 1-4, they are 9-0 in conference over the last two seasons and just beat the 2014 Champion and 2015 3rd place team. Other than Troy and possibly ULL, there isn't another team I personally see them losing to which gets them bowl eligible.

Troy would be the front runner at this point but with the loss to Clemson. Western Mich would have to lose, Boise State would have to Lose 2 games, and Houston would have to lose 1 more. Plus the Sunbelt need have a good showing with the rest of there out of conference game.
Sure its possible but not likely.
I would say that, plus Memphis, USF, Tulsa, Navy, and possibly Toledo would all have to lose too. The good thing is all those AAC teams will beat up on each other.

If this link was posted on Flight Line several posters heads would implode. Seems they would rather us do bad so they have more reason to be negative. It's sad over there

No it's here too. I don't think we get bowl eligible. It's more realistic than negative, imo.

The lower half of the Belt is weak enough for Southern to get to 6 wins regardless of how bad you guys believe you are right now. Losing to Arkansas State, no matter how poorly they play out of conference, isn't something to be extremely upset about, especially considering the catch that was required to go ahead for State. (Not to say they wouldn't have scored had it been incomplete)

The winnable games left are NMSU, Georgia State, and the Cajuns. We'll see what happens. But hey, Furman is 0-6!

Off-topic but that is unbelievable to me. They were slowly spinning with Lamb and once they fired him the wheels fell off. Funny how he is now at a conference rival and is doing better than Furman (which isn't saying much if you take it literally).

Your game against us is for sure winnable, you guys were a ton better than us during our last year in FCS and we beat the breaks off of you guys. 2007, you guys had no business beating us, but then you did. Records don't mean much in this one. Troy as well.

But they get first choice right? Or is that GoDaddy?
Selection order is:
NOLA
Mobile
Montgomery
Orlando
Tucson
The champion or any teams tied for first have to be selected by one of the five. So if Idaho wins the league NOLA, Mobile, Montgomery, and Orlando can pass on Idaho and Tucson would have to take them, UNLESS another bowl not affiliated with the Sun Belt will agree to invite. So our hypothetical Idaho champion if asked to cover Boise or Hawaii could be passed by Tucson based on the agreement of the other bowl.

I partially wished the Cure Bowl had second pick as that game is slated to be against the more high profile AAC. Regardless of actual strength of opponent, that game could have implications for the perceptions of the casual football fan which actually is important.

Kinda ... it's more of a pool process once it gets past New Orleans. Bowls will work together with the league.

I hope we can get Orlando, Montgomery wouldn't be a bad second choice. I don't think USA playing in Arizona will bring a lot of fans. We had a good showing in Montgomery 2 years ago, so I hope they would want us back. I doubt we get invited to the Dollar General Bowl being it would be a home game and could hurt hotels. Being we won't win the Belt, so New Orleans is out. I guess I am getting too far ahead of myself, we have to concentrate and win 6 games to become bowl eligible.

That wasn't terribly crazy though. App had literally just played in Mobile 2 weeks earlier. It's hard to convince a fan base to make the same trip twice in a year, especially two weeks apart.
That's part of why Go Daddy will go against the league sometimes. There are certain things the Sun Belt wants them to do, but they don't necessarily want to do.

As long as that bowl is on 12/23 I'm fine never playing in it, I don't think App would travel well to it.

In theory yes, it is a pool process, but the reality is that if Montgomery absolutely prefers the teams the league wants to send to Orlando or Tucson over the team it wishes to send to Montgomery, the good folks at ESPN Events can pull the contract out and tell the league office to stuff it, they will take their preferred team.
