Funny thing is I actually typed out Roy by mistake I'm seeing in my revisions. Spell check converted it to Ron. Funny.

I struggled with ODU as much as they'll struggle to find offense with out Trey. You can go back and look at any of my articles. I've written lots of praise for Zoran Talley, the Stith brother's, and Denzell Taylor. They're fantastic basketball players.

ODU got away with no perimeter threat with the mid-range master Trey was. I just don't see where they find their offense this season. I will say this may be their best defense yet under Jeff Jones.

1-7/8 are very fluid. We have some quality teams in CUSA this year. For me it wasn't so much that 7 teams were better than ODU. I just couldn't come up with enough reasons to place them above those teams other than their defense.

Pre-season polls are kind of a crap shoot but the one thing that stands out to me about your ranking... we have 7 or 8 teams that are looking to be solid to really good. We, as a conference, better take full advantage of this and not **** the bed OOC. I hope ODU holds up to its end of the deal but I think we might start slow and by conf time start to click. Which if we all do that would be bad for multiple bids.

Spot on assemsment. You have teams like FAU and North Texas who can beat any team in the conference on a given night.

I agree. ODU is too low and Western and La Tech are too high.

I can't fault you for having us 5th. Especially after reading your preview. Most publications have us in the 4th spot. And I think we end up in the top 4 again.

Benford can't coach for ****...thus his last year of contract, no extension...talent has been here. Biggest fear is that they are good this year and Benford gets extended

Let's be honest here. It's UAB and everyone else. Call me biased call me what ever you want I don't care. The point I'm trying to get across is there are 6-7 teams who you could make an argument could finish all over the place in that range. There are some reall stable rosters and that's not something we've seen recently.

I disagree you guys have a new coach and your going to miss Brown more than you realize. He was the one that could go get a basket when you guys really needed one and create his own shot. No one else could do it. Not saying you guys shouldn't be favored but I think it's by a slim of margin.

I think this write-up has more solid research and team understanding than others. If, indeed, ODU is 8th then the conference is moving in the right direction. Losing Freeman will make a huge impact, and I agree no 3-pt sniper has proven themselves in recent years. Many ODU fans thought football would be just fine after we lost Heinicke, and were disappointed after his departure, and I see this situation similarly. I am hoping for a stronger finish, but cannot take too much objection to the analysis presented.
