CMU has had a solid defense the past couple of seasons, but in the past two matchups, we've put up 32 and 41 points against that solid defense. Considering how impressive our offense - our OL, in particular - has looked, if we continue to play turnover-free, ball-control offense, I don't see how that trend doesn't continue on Saturday night.

Cooper Rush is a very good QB, but if we can shut down the CMU running game and make CMU one-dimensional, I like our chances. Our secondary will be tested, no doubt, and CMU will have their moments, but our D doesn't have to be lights out, just decent/good enough. For all the moaning at times here about the D, the bottom line is we have a defense that, four games into the season, has given up an average of about 20 points a game. CMU might top that, but probably not by much. With our offense, that should be good enough.

I'll say WMU 37, CMU 24. Beating Central never gets old, and neither does this:

^^^^^^^^^ Absolutely Gosh-Darn RIGHT! :)

Man, I almost felt bad for a sec betting against us to make myself feel better after Pooper Picks our secondary apart....

.... but I will say this: I have an affinity for redheads. But not that a$$hole Pooper Rush. Oh no. I want him to suffer. I want him to be sacked. I want him to be crying to his mama in Alma (not Charlotte where he's actually from, because that's the color woven into his hair).

http://collegefootballnews.com/2016/week...ent-advice

Want to be pretentious at parties – but also be right? While Deshaun Watson vs. Lamar Jackson is the marquee quarterback matchup of the weekend, NFL scouts looking for ten-year backup types are going to be watching Western Michigan (Zach Terrell) and Central Michigan (Cooper Rush) hard.

WMU vs. CMU will be the best game of the weekend. Be extremely disappointed if it’s not.

Western Michigan is better. Even on the road.

Until proven otherwise, for the love of Muncie, don’t take Northern Illinois. Ball State is physical right now, it can run, and it can stop the run. NIU can’t.

(Flashback to last week) “Words one should never utter. Eastern Michigan as a three-point home underdog against Wyoming might be a gift. This Eagle defense can play.”

Now fast-forward back to this week. Words one should never utter. Eastern Michigan as a 2.5-point road underdog against Bowling Green might be a gift. This Eagle defense can play – and Bowling Green is starting a redshirt freshman quarterback to try to stop giving the ball away like it was soup.

The MAC East is really, really, really, really, really bad. If Ohio doesn’t beat Miami University by more than three, set the early line on the MAC title game at West -27, no matter who it is.

What a poor construct. Nice try at a story, but it doesn't even come close to flowing. You had to be there.

Agreed. Horribly constructed - it made no sense. Not really sure what the writer was going for.

As the writer, I was trying to go between the 2012 game and the Cubit Era years. Honestly, I meant to re-write it from Sunday's draft, but never got the chance to with work taking up my time this week. Again, I will do better next time.

Good effort nonetheless.

Brandon, I hope you got my point, the effort and idea were stellar. What I meant by nice try at a story, because it's a good one to say the least.

Next time, I hope you have the time and nail it when you try something like that.

FWIW, computer models have really backed off on the rain chances for tonight. Doesn't mean it won't rain of course, but the chances of an all-game soaker and associated field issues are now greatly reduced.

WeatherUnderground showing 81% chance of precipitation at 6 pm and 72% chance of precipitation at 7 pm.

The chance for precipitation goes way down after 8 pm, however, I wouldn't necessarily rule out it being wet to begin the game.
