More homer-ass crap from the rag in Mt Pee. I just want to know what the F being in the same conference matters to them. They find any way they can to make the numbers look better.

Face it, chumps: Western's always been D1 and that's all that matters.

Those who are not fans of the Beetles, and instead like listening to country music while watching "Hee Haw", up there in Mt Pleasant. :)

"Beatles" please!

This greatly benefits WMU, as WMU has a huge advantage in the trenches. If the weather takes away CMU's pass game...bye bye, little Chippies.

2006 at Mount Pleasant.

WMU also had a significant advantage in the ground game.

Worst weather conditions imaginable. The stadium emptied during the 2nd quarter.

CMU threw. And threw. And threw well.

WMU's run game was pedestrian, at best.

One of the worst losses - and coaching choke jobs - in WMU football history.

While I agree the weather conditions should benefit WMU on Saturday, take NOTHING for granted when playing in either Mount Pleasant or Ypsi. Strange things happen in both those stadiums.

I am confident of a WMU victory Saturday, but it will be have to be earned through execution, coaching, and discipline. There will be no gifts from Mother Nature, or CMU.

Go Broncos! 04-cheers

That was SO. EFFING. MISERABLE.

06 was the only time i've been to Mt. Pleasant. I will never ever ever ever go back.

Ever

If you click on the link notice the local news stories:

-man stabs son with steak knife
-CMU prof admits child rape, pleads to porn charge
-stabbing at local hotel
-driver crashes into house
-missing toddler found wandering in woods

You know, just an average day in mt gloom. It's not that big a town.

Of course that paper is loaded with homers. Mt. Pleasant has NOTHING of interest outside of CMU and the Casino. The paper and local law enforcement gloss over pretty much anything they can to make that town look palatable to the outside world.

No industry, weak schools, terrible university, no tourism... that town is CMU and Casino. That's it.

I like to see it as Western Michigan is 47-37-1 against Central Michigan since ALWAYS BEING DIVISION 1.

Haha.

There were only 9 years where our programs weren't the same level. They're spinning.

We have not always been Division I.

We joined the "University Division" (Major College), the forerunner of Division I, in 1963. Before that we had been "College Division" (Small College).

Central was College Division through 1972, then Division II for two years, and became Division I in 1975 (first year they were eligible for MAC Football championship).

I'm fine with standing corrected, however, it is annoying to no end to hear their fans and that **** rag spin the series.

That's correct. So really, 11 years, those two years that they were DII are what throws me.

Plus, if memory serves, we lost to them during one of those two years. 03-puke

Well, I think it Is pretty amazing we beat two B1G teams + Upper-G5 who pasted us last year (GA-Southern). Heck yeah!

I didn't bet against GA-Southern. Illinois was a different story, though.

My brain says Western by two scores, my heart says Western by 1 due to wonky things in the City of Two Lies. So let's split it down the middle, Western by 7.

WMU 41
CriMinalU 34

RE: Western-Central preview
I will be curious to see how not only CMU's secondary compares to our pass game, but how our secondary holds up against the CMU offense and Cooper Rush... I really think we need to get pressure on Rush from the start... make him move around... don't let him sit back and pick apart our secondary at will... Our DL and Linebackers are going to need to make things happen in this game...

I can see this game going in either direction... good for us, bad for them.... and vice versa. Just so hard to predict when we head up to that place. Not only that, add the crap weather and all sorts of wild things could happen...

We need to hold on the ball, run the ball effectively and control both sides of the line...

GO BRONCOS!
