Curious on how everyone sees the outcome being Friday in Mormon land

I'm confident with this team...

I'm with Chuck- teams have to be pondering the wisdom of the 8-in-the-box approach by now, so who do you focus on? Woodside or our four-headed monster of a running attack? We'll score points and the D has had a chance to gel against some weak competition. They'll be tested but survive.

RE: BYU Predictions
I hope I'm wrong...I think BYU approaches this as a "must win" game with their backs against the wall and the emotion carries them to a win by 6. I think field goal kicking will play a big part in a game where both defenses play very well.

I hope I am wrong too. But I am seeing what you are. I caught the BYU vs WV game last week. The BYU QB is the reincarnation of Jordan Lynch. This year's UT D is better than it has been ....but BYU's three losses were by a combined total of 7 points and those good teams (UCLA, WV, Utah) are 9-2.

35-24 BYU

RE: BYU Predictions
With the exception of West Virginia, BYU has not given up more than 20 points a game, against teams like Utah and UCLA. Those teams are a far cry from Arkansas State and Fresno. I'm pretty sure that Maine could beat Fresno. BYU's running back, Jamaal Williams will eventually start breaking off big runs against the untested Toledo defense. BYU will pull away to a comfortable 42-17 win.

RE: BYU Predictions
BYU is too proud to lose for a fourth time. I am a rocket to my core, but I see a 10 point loss for UT. 37-27.

RE: BYU Predictions
They have played much better competition... i once thought we might win but BYU is looking good while losing close ones. Not sure we can score enough. We will need four touchdowns to win. BYU 31-UT 21. Loss of Moore is not helping us.

RE: BYU Predictions
Two things so far concern me:

Rocket defense has not gotten a turnover yet this year.

Vest not being able to connect on the long range field goals. This week it will mean something.

Get TO's and hit he FG's: Toledo wins by 10.
If either doesn't happen BYU by 10.

I want to watch the full WVU game before a make a prediction, but a couple thoughts...

- We may not have played a winning team yet, but our wins were closer than they could have been if you get my drift.

- Ranked Temple was supposed to have a great defense, too.

RE: BYU Predictions
BYU is 87th in pass D efficiency and we are number 1. Lots of big plays and a decent running game will give us a 28-20 win on the road. We still won't give up a sack or throw a pick.

RE: BYU Predictions
Had to laugh at this one:

I was on a BYU message board and a Cougar poster commented that he was glad that the Cougars would not have to face an OL like that of their first four opponents:

Phil Steele's 2016 Preseason Unit Rankings:
OL's
WVU#11
Toledo #17
UCLA #20
Utah#32
Arizona#41

Watched the whole WVU game last night. I don't think I really gained any insights that haven't already been mentioned. We know their D is big, comes at cha, and hits hard. But it is vulnerable to some things that we do. Their offense is a big play offense. Hill presents you with two good RB's to have to contend with every down.

Rockets 33-27
