Adjusted Season Expectations
Most teams are one-third through their season. While we don't have all our off-season questions answered, what are your adjusted expectations for your team?

For App the players expect to win every game remaining (only SBC games remain). With Troy, GS, and ULL on the road that is a tall order. I think 7-1 is doable, but wouldn't be surprised by a 6-2 finish either.

Pass defense is still fairly questionable. Kicking as well.

Young WRs stepped up last week, just not the ones I expected.

Evans is going to be special, get used to see him and Moore the next few years, and our offensive line may just be the best in the conference (no injuries please!).

Our O-LINE may be the worst in the conference. I hope we can win against GTech but im expecting a loss to both tech and Ole Miss. Within the conference I'm worried about App and Troy. Also who knows what's going on with A-State and ULL. I don't expect it, but at worst I can see 6 more losses for GaSouthern.

RE: Adjusted Season Expectations
Well since my expectations at the start of season were a humble 13-0, and we're starting conference play at 0-4 I guess my adjusted expectations has to be 9-3 now lol No need in being a Debby Downer unless you're stAte's next opponent and get the big L when an FCS can get the W. I'm looking at you GS: 05-stirthepot

RE: Adjusted Season Expectations
Well after a 2-2 start and the fact we don't play Troy (sarcasm) I feel we can finish the season 6-2 maybe 7-1 but probably 5-3 so I still feel 7-5 or 8-4 and going bowling.

RE: Adjusted Season Expectations
I didn't have a specific number in mind, but I figured we'd be somewhere between 7-5 and 11-1. My Expectations have now shifted to the range of 6-6 and 9-3.

Trying to take it one step at a time and get to six wins. Will make new expectations once that "checkpoint" is met.

After watching Troy in Boone last year they have been on my radar as the one to watch. Brown can flat out coach.

RE: Adjusted Season Expectations
some observations, we are absolutely loaded at running back, now, and for the next 2 or 3 years, the OL has performed much better than anticipated, some of the young kids have really stepped up, still got a lot of work to do with wrs, we really miss Gibbs in the secondary, and we need better production from the DE. If the receivers step it up and start playing better, then I think we are in really good shape at winning the SBC, but its going to be tough if we cant throw the ball.

Have to think Watts was sending a message to some of the scholarship WR's Saturday. Beginning to realize how important Doug Middleton was to our secondary. Gray has all the physical tools, but have to wonder if he has what it takes to be the QB of tge defense. All defenses have their weaknesses and Troy exposed ours last year. Woody likes to keep everything in front and stop people inside the 30. Hopefully he can make adjustments to the hurry up and quick tosses to the WR's. Our group of LB's are the best in the conference. PAT's & FG's still a work in progress. Very pleased with OL. People talk about Collins & Gossett, but imo Vic Johnson might be the best NFL OL prospect we've ever had. That guy can flat out play. RB position is in great hands into the foreseeable future. Taylor isn't flashy, but he's cool under pressure and just wins games. That's all you can ask for.

Your O-line is not the worst in the conference. You didn't play a bad game against WMU, they just jumped the gun and you all were in catch-up mode. Southern's lack of a pass rush is what killed them in that game considering WMU is for all intents and purposes, an air raid type offense.

You beat a team like that by outscoring them and hopefully creating more turnovers than you have by generating a pass rush to force the QB into some mistakes.

You see yourself beating App and keeping up with GT based on what exactly? Beating USA, ULM or Savannah State? 03-lmfao

Want to know what that message was? These guys fit our offense and can catch the ball. There isn't a message he needs to send any more than the players themselves can send.

Gray doesn't have it all mentally. He is more of an enforcer and seems to be reactionary versus pro-active in coverage, which is fine most of the time, however it also results in him being caught out of position.

All in all, App is right where most would've though, 2-2 going into conference play; Averaging 38 PPG, close to 280 rushing yards and 220 passing yards per game against G5 opponents.

The details are where people guessed wrong, however I don't think that Troy even has the offensive skill players that Akron has. I believe Troy has the better running back and quarterback (and coaching), but the threat presented by having a 5-9 160 lb guy next to a 6-3 215 lb guy won't be there.

My faith wavered last week but my expectations are back where they were preseason -- 6-7 wins and a bowl game.
