I root for all conference teams in OOC games but I do not pull for anyone in the conference to win except us. Now if we need someone to lose to help us out then I might hope for that outcome but I won't actively root for it. The way I see it GS controls our own destiny each season and if we don't win the conference it is because of us and not some other team.

Obviously it sucks for y'all having an off year and such, but just from an App fan perspective this game has been anticipated for 3 years. App and stAte have robbed each other of a conference championship at home. We always gave GaSo grief for having a relatively weak conference schedule and dodging the Red Wolves. Now y'all are playing and stAte is coming of its worse loss in decades and is a long shot to win the league.

I am still optomistic. stAte has the talent to compete, the question is whether they can develop into a team. Bad start is completely on the coaching staff. If they pull together, they can win or at least be competitive in every game left. Not saying they beat Ga So, but wouldn't surprise me if it happened. Regardless, I will be in the stands until the horn sounds, win or lose.

And if stAte found a way to win, all the fans that are in hiding will be back on this board with a vengeance

The GaSo game was big. Winning would have been delayed payback for '87. Losing would have hurt bad. The sort of game I like.

But losing to UCA has blown all that up. We'll have a few sullen thousand there on Wed. night.

If we win, its "at least something". If we lose, its just blah cause it ain't worse than UCA.

I don't need to watch that again. It's etched in my mind. I was in the media back then so I had to appear to be neutral but I sure wanted us to win that game. You guys did and it was all because of Hamm. He was a truly phenomenal player. I had to take my hat off to your team that day.

I hope for a good game with GS but I don't have high hopes. This group is dysfunctional in a way I've never seen in my lifetime. I'm not sure what to hang it on. Coaches seem the most suspect but I think the players have some burden of proof here as well. I can tell you that all the fans expected more but we'd be thrilled just to see them turn it around and get back on the winning track.

Meanwhile, I'll just watch replays of our game with App last year and try to comfort myself.
