Did not make the UAB game this past year when it was packed. But I've been there before and I doubt if it could have matched that of ODU.

Deer in the headlights look...hell I don't recall any Western team doing that... before that game

Don't feel bad about that happening as you weren't alone in experiencing it. I was there at that game (season ticket holder) and had seen that look you described before. While it gets loud in the TED for "other" good teams like WKU, Middle Tennessee, UAB, and LA Tech, we tend to go up to an extra special hold onto your seat level in the loud department when our most hated rivals VCU comes into town. I always bring and wear my ear plugs or it would be painful.

Three home games come to mind from the 2014 - 2015 season where ODU just blitzed the opposition in the first half of the game and you pretty much knew the game was already over ... one is the WKU game (75 - 52) that you mentioned, the second is the LA Tech game (72 - 53), and the third is the #14 ranked VCU game (73 - 67). The score in the VCU game in no way reflects the beat down that occurred. ODU led by 15 - 20 at halftime, by over 20 in the 2nd half, and it was only a late barrage of 3 pointers in the last 6 - 7 minutes of the game by VCU that made the score as close as it ended up being. All three teams in those games seemed to have the same reaction (zombie like) from about 7 - 10 minutes into the game until the end of it.

That La Tech blow out was incredible. Tech was clearly the team of the conference and ODU just went off and couldn't miss. It was a nationally televised game, too.

Yeah, I'm sure they were a much better team with Speedy, Hamilton, etc. than they showed themselves to be that day at ODU. Same thing could be said for WKU and VCU also.

I don't know ... maybe ODU piped just a little bit of sleep causing gas into the ventilation of the visiting locker room during the break before tip off and again during halftime. You know, just enough to make them come out listless. 03-zzz

I doubt we used gas.

More likely they were subjected to a live feed of Ted Alexander's pre-game radio banter, and they came out of the locker room unsure of whether they identified more with Bruce or Caitlyn Jenner.

fat tub o' goo ruined what he attempted to start once again at the Yurt....I'll give him credit for getting more butts in the seats...

our site needs some serious attention....we still have dot matrix tech coupled with bench seating.....however, when we pack it out, it's as good as you'll find at the "volume" level....

8.5k at the Yurt is about as amped as one can get as a fan....and our admin over the last two decades decided that baseball was more important....

I'm still scratching my head.....

I remember reading articles about DT going around campus doing all he could to get students to games and it appeared to work. He obviously bent the rules but you can't discount what he was able to around campus. You guys went 17-0 at home that one year under him.

it's the one thing he did to perfection....

there is no questioning he's a snake oil salesman.....

however, it reminded many what we can do creating interest at the Yurt

hopefully, Doc's plan is going to work and we'll see those numbers soon once again....it's just dadgum fun when she gets a rockin'
