19-0 end of the 3rd quarter. The Mean Green D is a scrappy bunch.

Video shows Florida TE Ryan Ferguson intentionally tripped the rushing North Texas player, causing his hit on the quarterback to be low.

Watch the unorthodox blocking style here.

Unfortunately the SEC refs were not able to make an accurate call and a penalty was assessed against the wrong team.

Oh, and the hit, even after all that was still above the knees; totally within the rules.

From watching a good bit of the game...........I can tell that North Texas, is indeed better.

Question though-- how the hell did y'all fall so far, so fast ?

Mac just stopped trying. A one point he came out and blamed North Texas for his inability to recruit. When he got to UNT he blasted the team he inherited as being too small and not good enough to play in the FBS. In 2013, those same players won the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Three of those players, Craig Robertson, Lance Dunbar, and Jamize Olawale are now in the NFL. Robertson and Olawale are starters. Mac never won anything with his recruits. The final straw was his inability to lure a real FBS QB. North Texas went into the 2015 season with McNulty again as the starter, and many of us knew where the season was headed. Portland State was just the culmination of many bad decisions. Factor in th e fact that RV was our AD for 15 years and it is easy to see how UNT got in this position. The good news is we are correcting a decade and a half of mistakes. And faster then I thought we could too. Too bad our Rice game won't be on TV. You guys will have to watch the highlights on "Beyond the Green". 04-cheers

Good recap of Mac's tenure. I'll just add this point. Mac was in his 60's when he was hired and in great physical condition. However, shortly after coming here he lost one eye, had a major heart attack, and lost his brother. I wonder if all of these issues combined with trying to rebuild a program proved to be too much for him. I think mentally and physically he was no longer able to put the work in to rebuild a program.

That is very possible. As fans, we rarely think about things that coaches deal with outside of football. But those things can carry over into their football world and have an impact.

Well North Texas certainly has the nice stadium to recruit to.

If you could just get rid of that hoops coach.

UNT will always be fine as long as you have passionate fans like FireFightinRick in the stands.

I'm worried about him.

I have not heard from him in years. I believe he lived a good distance away for Denton. I'm not sure if anyone on the gomeangreen board knows what happened to him either.

That guy loved him some Mean Green and had no problem defending his team, even to a fault perhaps. I liked that about him.

KAjunRaider I've been wondering what happened to MG61 too. He use to be a regular on GMG.com. I'm pretty certain he was from Corpus Christi, Tx., and I've asked our board moderator if he could provide information on MG61 so we could find out. If we knew his real name it might be easier to check out his whereabouts.

This was MG61's most used "smillie"- 07-coffee3

I've lived on the Texas coast all my life and last time I checked Corpus has beaches. You know, sand, surf, etc. Are they beautiful like Florida beaches? No. Thank the Mississippi River sediment for that!

I grew up in corpus, flour bluff, and always hated the beaches...can't see your feet in ankle deep water.

Was just saying that corpus beaches are not like the beaches people expect and see on tv, pics, other destinations
