Cheap trip that their fans can easily attend and Vandy gets credit for a road game.

3 hours from Memphis to Nashville. Same number of fans from Vandy would likely attend a Memphis vs Vandy game in Memphis in a much nicer venue against a school in the AAC vs WKU/CUSA. 40K+ at Memphis vs 18-20K at Bowling Green. And BTW, the Vandy at WKU this week is the first ever SEC opponent at WKU.

Yeah..we arent giving vandy a 2 for 1. Not happening. Bowling Green is a dumpy little town with a 22000 seat stadium. Worst part is vandy will probably get beat.

BG is closer to Nashville than Jonesboro is to Memphis.

And it's not like Vandy would bring 15K to the Liberty Bowl, especially if they aren't good and we are having a good season.

I'd love to play Vandy regularly, but I can't see why they'd want to do it.

Didn't Fred do well there ?

1975 7-4 (2-4 Sixth)
1976 2-9 (0-6 Tenth)
1977 2-9 (0-6 Tenth)
1978 2-9 (0-6 Tenth)

I guess that's doing well as far as Vandy football is concerned

Let's don't schedule them in BB. Their court is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

That court is weird. Playing on that court is completely disorienting with the raised floor but there is much more perimeter room off the court than it appears. Safety is no issue but a very big home court advantage given it's dynamics. Nonetheless, I'd love to play Vandy every year home & home in BB. It would become a real rivalry game over time. And add FB too, much better than UT-Martin, SEMO, MoSt, AP etc. Agree Vandy has no motivation to play us except they already have their ticket punched, so why not?

Was Vandy where Gene Bartow had the team start heading for the locker room before the game was over since the refs would not call goaltending on Vandy in the early 70's ?

I dunno. I've seen our guys fly over the first row and land in the stands.
Vandy's court might not support a serious flyer

Actually they do, or at least they were under Franklin.

Vanderbilt had more 901 recruits than anyone but Memphis in 2012.

Nashville to Bowling Green is 450 miles or nearly seven hours.

I think you have your states mixed up.

WKU is in Bowling Green , KY ,
BGSU is in Bowling Green , OH
Bowling Green , KY is only about an hour out of Nashville.

Bowling Green, KY is where Western Kentucky University is located. 65 miles from Nashville.

Don't confuse it with Bowling Green University in Ohio who we are playing.

They are talking about Bowling Green, KY, home of the Corvette Museum and Western KY not Bowling Green U in Ohio

Since no one picked up on your question.........I remember that occurring & I think you remember correctly as to the event. Don't remember the year.

Vandy doesn't have any fans. Especially ones that travel, even if it's to Murfreesboro.
