New National Championship Title Game - Time to Break Away from the P5
At the end of the day I think there will be 4 conferences with 16 teams based on everything we've seen come from the Big12 expansion CLUSTER. Now word out of Oklahoma is at the end of the day in 2024/2025 there will only be 4 power conferences with 16 teams.
As I've said before the ONLY chance for inclusion is to refuse to play current P5 colleges in their 4 out of conference games.
Break away, create our own national championship title playoff, and agree to boycott playing these greedy suckers just so they can fill their stands & make more $$$
Let them have their own 64 team playoff and yes it will be "The Major Playoff", however there is still major TV money deals within the remaining 50% of D1 colleges.
It's time to break away and have our own national championship playoff where each college is playing on an even playing field.
The idea of ECU, Temple, Memphis, UC, Boise, etc beating Alabama, Ohio State, etc in a national championship title game isn't realistic
Let these greedy bastards have their title game but don't help them out by giving them non conference games
When you have 50% of D1 teams getting a $60M check a year and the other 50% getting $8M the disparity is simply too vast.
Either let all D1 teams in or let's break off and create our own national championship title game.
Our side of the 50% would go into every season with enthusiasm knowing we all have a legit chance to win a national championship.
Otherwise it will never happen

The G5 would never do it, and unfortunately, the P5 wouldn't care anyway.

If anything it would only hurt us. I imagine the networks would just cut our funds and relegate us to an fcs status.

I respectfully disagree.
I feel if D1 football schools were truly split 50-50 there would be a big network come in and pay out a lot of money to make it legit.
again by truly separating from the greedy establishment in college football they would be left with only 64 teams. CBS and ESPN would lose a TON of games if we break away.
Its a great opportunity for NBC and Fox networks to gain sole rights to all our games.
The thing to remember about NCAA and NFL football is they are all about GAMBLING. Football gamblers watch games and football gambling is a multi billion dollar industry annually.
We take away programming and we have power
CBS/ESPN & the P5 are getting the cake and eating it too

Really. Who really cares about the FCS Championship game? A G5 title game wouldn't generate much more enthusiasm than that.

The TV commercial for the event would be classic!!!
San Diego St vs Houston for the G5 National Championship on ESPN 8 the Ocho!
Lawyer: (in a fast talking quiet voice) This is a game between two non-NFL teams not to be confused with The San Diego Chargers and Houston Texans of the NFL, and not to be confused with any Amateur P5 conference schools of the NCAA.
Cheers!

RE: New National Championship Title Game - Time to Break Away from the P5
I just don't see it happening. The GOR for the Big 12 expires in 2024 or 2025, not sure, but the LHN expires in 2031. Why would Texas leave that money on the table? The same can be said for Oklahoma, why would they continue to play second fiddle when they could join the SEC or PAC12 and get more $? If they split I can see Texas building it's own conference to keep the LHN and be the big fish in a smaller pond. If this happens ESPN will back Texas to let them have access to the playoffs.
