That bridge, by the way, would be 650 miles long. That's a helluva bridge. For the record, Ames is a shorter bridge at 450 miles. But still.......

That's odd, i seem to remember them presenting to the B12 for admission. Huh, odd...

Congratulations on being one of 19 to present to an open casting call. And, a huge congrats on drawing 14,000 fans to see your beloved Huskies take on a ranked team last weekend. I'll refer to you as a bridge to Wisconsin-Whitewater. Feel better?

14,500! And they weren't ranked. But yea, our fanbase sucks.

Anyway, seems like even most MAC fans figure NDSU is a "bridge too far" for the MAC. They're, uh, slightly out of the footprint for the AAC I believe. I wouldn't be averse to it - but I'm not paying for the team travel either. Would be nice to have another good FB team and one with a good fanbase.

Oops. Sorry, 14,500. And I didn't mean to crack on NIU. You hear about how expansion can raise the level of fan bases, especially in schools with good recent track records. If the AAC finds itself in expansion mode again, I believe that NIU (along with Ohio) are the two MAC schools with the potential (geography, history, etc. included) to successfully expand into a conference that has larger average attendance and wants to maintain that. My favorites for AAC, for the record, would be Army, Rice, Ohio, and NIU, in no particular order. You get solid academics and varying levels of success and prestige with each.
Eh, with how we've been playing lately and our recent attendance woes... crack away. We deserve it.

Yea, it was a nice day so it was quite a disappointing turnout, even for us.

Joining with the Dakotas.

Is this really your best offer?

Not sure you'll lose us. I think no expansion is looking just as likely as expansion. We'll see

Hypothetically if it happens, AAC would be best sticking to 10 or if possible get the service academies into the league. Those universities have a national following and would expand the league further to the west.

Cause I'm level headed and find out of the box candidates for expansion? Also you must be forgetting bonds and SJ...

I have never even heard of South Dakota State before this thread. What is this foolishness?

Not sure which thread is worse. This or the AAC Ref thread.
