Goodbye Tiger Lane
For some reason even though the metro area already has two fairs in place. Someone has come up with the idea of having a third ON TIGER LANE. Which mean we could see rides and booth set up on and around the green areas of the lane.

Just one night of rain will do excessive damage to the area. Not to mention the possible damage done to the asphalt and curbing of Tiger Lane.

Does the city really need a third fair with in 45 days of each other.

Do you know any of the specifics or are you just spouting off?

When was the last time you were at TL?

RE: Goodbye Tiger Lane
Since the OP started this thread and its just going to go nowhere... I do have a valid TL question. I purchased a TL spot for this weekends game from someone, I've never been ON TL tailgating before, usually in the blue or tan lots. I know we can only park 1 vehicle in our spot, but is that spot only good for the grassy area in front of it? Trying to see if we will have room for multiple EZ-up canopies. I'm thinking we will have to make do with 1 from the look of things.

If you have one spot, you also have a 10x10 space of grass to go along with it. Some spots do have some extra grass, due to their being a median (?) between that spot and another spot.

If you have one spot reserved, you typically only have space for one tent.

RE: Goodbye Tiger Lane
So they will have three days to get it cleaned up for the Temple game.
Also, I thought that they were planning to have a watch party at the Liberty Bowl for the Ole Miss Game. I guess that it will all be happening at the same time. I assume that this has been in the planning for some time?

Be arseholes if you wish. But many of the items they have planned require spikes to be driven into the ground. My dad was maintenance supervisor of the old fair ground and the week after the fair was always the busiest of the season for the maintenance crews.

Obviously the fair (rides, etc) can't be on Tiger Lane. Simply based on the layout of the lanes.

I would guess a lot of it will be on the big parking lots and on the grass plot that is used for parking where Tim McCarver used to be. Or perhpas the back area (the frolf course) where Libertyland was.
