I want to know more about this setup. Will we be watching from the stands? Or the field? Will we be able to tailgate all day long on Tiger Lane like a home game? This actually sounds like fun!
watching on the field. There will be food trucks in the stadium and drinks available. No outside food/drink allowed.
As far as tailgating, not sure on that side. I think someone said there's a wiffleball game/tournament on Tiger Lane that day so it may not be available for normal tailgating.
Does anybody know why this is? I don't think there are any rules or regulations prohibiting this because years ago I used to bring my own food in for blue grey games. A few years ago they opened concession stands for blue grey games and stopped allowing people to bring in their own food and drink. Now I think this is a great idea, to allow fans in the Liberty Bowl to watch the game on the big screen. I was wondering when they might do something like this. But monopolizing the food and drink will dissuade some people from coming. I would absolutely come if I could bring in my own cooler. But why would I go when I could watch the game at home and drink a beer I paid $1 for as opposed to $8. Or whatever they charge for a beer in the Liberty Bowl.

It's something called the "experience". Similar to when you decide to splurge and go to a restaurant or bar to watch a game rather than sitting at home simply because it's "cheaper". I'd imagine for those not attending the game in person this would obviously be a very rare and awesome experience watching the game, on the field, with several other Memphis fans on the largest TV in the city.

I'll take that under advisement.
But Tiger87 has pretty much convinced me that his family reunion of overdressed drunk people barbecuing fancy meats in a copse was comparable and the parking much easier.

Also, If I'm not a member, will I be able to become one at the gate? That would be a great membership drive...
yes, you can definitely join at the gate. It's open to TSF, Alumni, 901 Club, M Club, and students and faculty. Each of these you can use your respective membership/ID card for entrance.

Ahhh... Now... I'm a 901 Club member, and I buy two season tickets to get that membership, but I only have ONE membership card in my FedEx envelope. How many people does that ONE membership card get in the gate???
