Momma always said...if something looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Tigers looking ahead to Ole Miss. Already counting this as an easy W. Closer than the experts think.

Tigers - 34
Falcons - 23

Possible.

I would hope despite the KU blowout and look ahead to Ole that these coaches have enough cache in the film room that at the very least the offense realizes how much work they need to do to improve and that we see another step forward on Saturday.

I can definitely see it being 34-16, Tigers clinging to the cover while BG marches down on the the second string D for a final minute back door TD to cover though.

RE: Memphis BGU line
has anybody thought that maybe we haven't really opened up the playbook at all offensively so that we don't give OM and the AAC the opportunity to prepare on film? Other than the first couple offensive series against SEMO, we haven't really played at the super fast tempo that we heard all about during fall camp.

Anything is possible, but if you sat through SEMO and KU, it's hard not to notice the line play has been inconsistent, to be nice.

Not sure they can really run a lot of stuff until the OL starts to play better.

I just don't buy the "Saving the playbook for ole miss" bit

IMO the playbook has been condensed because of the line play

I'm hoping they can get it together. Haven't most of the guys on the OL been playing the last year or 2? How much turnover did we have in the offseason?

I don't buy that we have gone completely vanilla versus Southeast Missouri and Kansas - vanilla as in an NFL team in Week 17 with nothing to play for - but I do absolutely buy that we've held back on some formations and plays for sure.

If you have shown very little of what you are able to do...when playing low rated teams before you play a ranked team...and that is a very good strategy...you can surprise OM. My guess is..we are doing just that. You may see a very different team playing against OM.

Allowing the other two teams to set up residency in your backfield is not a strategy.

Have allowed 16 tackles for loss and 8 sacks allowed against two very poor teams. We have got to change this during the BGU game or OM game will be ugly.
nice analysis Edna.

You are one miserable SOB!

And you have your head up your ass when it comes to reality. If something isn't done about the OL play we will have players hurt. It is a point of concern that must be addressed.

I can still remember twice in a five year period where we ended up with either a third string or moved player at QB due to a rash of injuries..
