The AAC is not what it was circa 2015, so far, so it's conceivable that the only win against top 25 competition (as ranked in December) will be against Louisville. Probably won't cut it if you have four P5 conference champs with one loss.
If Louisville is undefeated (obviously UH needs to be undefeated in this scenario), UH will not be beating just any Top 25 team, but a Top 3 team (now), maybe even #1 come Nov 17.
Beating UL in that scenario changes things quite a bit, and I can't see any way possible that UH beating UL then fails to make UH a top 4 team (assuming the system isn't rigged.)

Outside of Temple, the same AAC programs are creeping toward that Top 25 (as they did in 2015). Navy, USF, and Memphis..
It's a long season... Should be interesting. I still think OU is the cream of the Big 12. Ohio State would have done the same thing to the rest of the pack.

If we win both win out to that point, and get some luck with a few upsets, it's conceivable that UL/UH could be #1 vs. #2.

Just take it one game at a time, the path to the CFP is there.

If my aunt had balls.....she'd be my uncle. I still have Memphis winning the west and the conference championship. Houston has a good OOC win and is looking good so far, but we're not 1/4 of the way into the season yet. A lot of football to be played. Does every thread have to be about .....If......Houston wins out?

It's the most interesting thing about this conference this season, so sure why not.

Yes, our pals down the Freeway deserve all the respect they're getting. However, without Greg they aren't unbeatable. Let's hope he gets healthy. Otherwise, the SDSU v. Boise game may be for the Access Bowl.

That may have been true in the beginning but frankly, Ward has not really looked like himself and the Defense has carried us through (the Cinci game is prime example).
Our major issue is the Oline and that needs to be stabilized before we start really getting into the heart of conference play.

Frankly, I'm more impressed with him than ever.
Ward is fine. OU was the best DLine we'll play this year and he had to use his arm to beat them. (They prepared all summer with Kyler Murray.)
Against UC, there was another stout DLine, and he was hobbled. He still gutted out a hefty load on the ground.
He hasn't broken some of the longer TD runs yet... (we're 2 games in), but that is partly by design and partly because he's favoring the shoulder.
Defenses are also scheming him differently.

Say any thing you like about UH. But, I think UC is as good as any team in the Big 12 this year. Frankly, from performances thus far, I don't see how anyone could disagree.

This. Defense is really good. O-line will cost us if they can't start opening some running lanes.

The whole premise of this thread is down right silly. UH is good and they have earned it. The only way I see their demise is injury. Their defense is the real deal. They do have to play Louisville and they will be difficult to beat. They are higher ranked and I agree looking at teams I believe UL is the better team. That game is at UH so we will see. Besides that game I don't see UH losing which is good for the conference.

If thinking Houston is over-rated because OU lost to the number 2 team in the country, you need to learn about football more
